Chances of any repeal passing now? Gotta be slim to none right?

Slim, yes.  Don't say "none" until after Sept. 30.

I'm actually amazed Murkowski hasn't come out against this bill yet, and never did I even once think that John McCain would come out in opposition to it before Murkowswki did.

It's not dead yet.  The GOP is trying to tweak G-C to bring Murkowski and/or Collins on board: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/23/obamacare-repeal-gop-tweak-cassidy-graham-243054

Susan Collins will be on Face the Nation tomorrow morning. I wonder if she has anything important to announce...

But every breakdown of where the Senators stood ahead of the vote I ever saw (on atlas or off) had Murkowski as a strong no.

The day of the vote, there were huge freakouts about her getting an Alaska kickback and not commenting if it was enough to flip her. That's what I remember anyway.

Why did all the x's in "reply number x" get reduced by ~ 30?

EDIT: Wait, they just got reduced further. Now they are ~ 200 lower then they were a few hours ago. What's going on?

Joint statement by physician, hospital, and insurer groups opposing G-C: https://twitter.com/thomaskaplan/status/911740943187021824.  This kind of agreement among different segments of the industry is unusual, to say the least.

McCain has been castigated by some Republicans for his opposition, but if it's the death blow for this bill, he will have saved the GOP from itself.

Rand Paul saying they could get his vote if they removed the whole block grant system in the bill, which is a non-starter.

Didn’t Kimmel say insurance groups wanted this or something?

It seems like Rand wants to get to yes, and keeps moving the goalpost on what changes need to happen to get him to yes. If he actually votes no i'll be very surprised.

Also Cruz and Lee are bs'ing like they always do. They'll be a yes. Just like last time, it will come down to Collins/Murkowski/McCain.

We've seen how this story goes before. I'm not gonna hang my hopes on Ted Cruz suddenly growing a conscience.

Whatever the new bill is, it's not passing. Murkowski and Collins will oppose it on ideological grounds (and what does it say about the GOP that I can tell any healthcare bill they propose will be cruel before it's even unveiled?), as will McCain on procedural grounds.

This will probably be even more of a disaster than any of the previous attempts considering they basically pulled an all-nighter over the weekend to write a massive piece of legislation like it was a college paper.
