Heller is definitely in a rough spot. He can't vote Yes, but other Senators know this and are waiting for him to oppose so that they can too. Portman, Murkowski, and Capito would come out against this if they knew there were already three votes against, which means, barring some generosity on their part, the ball is in Heller's court.

S**t, this might get passed if none of them speak up and they are all herded along waiting for someone else in their group to voice an objection

To be clear, they are not voting on the BCRA right now. They are voting on a motion to waive the requirement that the BCRA needs 60 votes. The vote to waive such a requirement also requires 60 votes. This current vote has failed, meaning when they do vote on the BCRA, it will need 60 votes to pass.

GOP NOs on this motion: Collins, Corker, Cotton, Graham, Heller, Moran, Murkowski,Paul

I'm unclear on this but if a vote waiving the requirement for 60 votes requires 60 votes, what's the point of holding 2 votes?

If Schumer offered not to run a Democratic candidate against Heller in exchange for permanent no on all ACA repeal votes, would it be a good deal for Democrats?

I'm thinking yes. There's no guarantee of beating him anyway.

*headdesk*

This idea is unenforceable, and would shoot senate dems in the foot. No.

I honestly feel like shooting myself.

Not because I want this to pass, I just can't go through another negative press day for my party and my ideology. I cannot do it.

I love politics and I the last 6 months have been absolute hell for me.

That's what happens when you're on the same side as a disjunctive president

Now, Berniecare is full-blown single-payer socialism. It is his dream and that's where Democrats are going."

>Full blown socialism
>System most western countries have
Choose one.
Seriously, the only GOP Senators I have some respect left for are Murkowski, Collins and McCain.

In spite of me having a socialist avatar(I'll probably change that soon), I actually am alarmed by the conflation of socialism and social democracy because it will either make social democracy less popular or actual totalitarian socialism more popular, both of which are not good outcomes for me.
