This bill is a good idea, paid maternity and paternity leave are great steps forward. So great, that we already passed them last year. But that doesn't mean we can't pass this bill. The laws on the books are currently just more comprehensive versions of sections 1 and 2. Meanwhile, sections 3 and 4 would be a great benefit to the working parents of this region.

I concur with Governor Wells.  It's a good bill with more robust additions.

I concur with Governor Wells.  It's a good bill with more robust additions.

The current law actually gives new mothers and fathers more time off. I personally think that we don't need redundant or conflicting rules on the books, so I'll propose this amendment, which hopefully an Assembly member will second so it can be accepted/voted on.

The amendment is now official because the author accepted it.

I wholeheartedly support this bill in its amended form, and I too see it as a necessary expansion of the existing legislation that the Governor mentioned.  This bill adds more inclusive language to ensure that all Lincoln families are covered.

This bill being passed will be a massive boost for all families in the Lincoln region in that it will protect the income stream to the families that need to use their family leave.
