Amazing what a few wedge issues here and there do to the overall picture.

Uh... wtf?

How am I socially to the left of Goldwater, but economically to the right of Tim, AZ, and Nev? And I'm more dovish than 90% of the people to the left of me on FoPo, lol.

...huh, could'a sworn you were further left...didn't you have the S-avvie for a bit?

Whatever, this is tricky business as the list gets bigger and bigger anyway...

...Ya' know what, all this would go into that one quote mine where you submit your own personal shames.

No problem, I'm fairly left wing on the economy, but I'm still often more open to the "free" market than others and I'm not an economic populist, while still holding other views that would be very left wing for the States

No, by the comment about my candidate picks?

-You asked what was wrong with Paul Ryan (when there is a great deal of fiscal conservative grassroots complaining about him) and went for Marco Rubio over True Conservative (and winner of more states than just Minnesota, DC, and Puerto Rico) Senator Ted Cruz.

Old School Republican's discrepancies between candidate preference and stated policy positions are even weirder.

Marco Rubio is just as true conservative and evil as Ted Cruz. Cruz might actually have a tiny 'libertarian-streak' that pulls him away from true conservative.

My rationale for supporting Rubio over Cruz originally was threefold:

1. Cruz is too libertarian on things like the NSA (he voted for the Freedom Act, while Rubio voted against it because he wanted to keep the Patriot Act in full)

2. The one area where Cruz is clearly more conservative is immigration, which also happens to be the issue that I am most moderate on, though I definitely still lean towards the right on it.

3. I am pretty pragmatic and thought that Rubio was at least 99% as conservative as Cruz and had a much better chance to win in November (though, in hindsight, either would have won without a problem).

EDIT: Word of the day, if someone has an avatar supporting Marcon their probably not that left-wing, also you can tell from his post, he's a standard free-market progressive.

I'm not a free market progressive, and as I've stated on several occasions I'm only supporting Macron as a lesser evil (because Hamon's campaign is a disaster and I've never liked Melenchon's brand of left wing populism)
