Statement on Pending Investigation of LCDR Mitch Flint

As of this afternoon, the Department of Justice, acting in conjunction with officials at the Department of State, has launched an official investigation into the alleged involvement of Lieutenant Commander Mitch Flint in the attempted coup against the government of the Republic of Turkey last year. The Department does not, at this time, make any statement regarding the guilt or innocence or Mr. Flint, nor that of any other persons who may or may not have been involved in the alleged crime.

Continued Investigation of Atlasian Involvement in the 2016 Turkish Coup

The Department of Justice and the Office of the Attorney General have presented to the president and the Secretary of State a report stating several potential violations of federal law made by former Lieutenant Commander Mitch Flint in his alleged attempt to assist those persons intending to overthrow the legitimate government of Turkey in the coup of last year. The Department of Justice has not, at this time, been supplied with any evidence supporting the claims that Mr. Flint indeed committed the acts of which he is accused, and has applied to the State Department for access to such.

I have a question for the Attorney General. I would like to know your opinion on a legal situation.

If a new law comes in effect and an element of that law comes in opposition to an element in a precedent law still valid (there is no mention of an element replacing the other or one being abolished). Basically two clauses in two laws contradicts each other.

Example: the elecoral laws says an absentee ballot can't be replace by voting in the regular election while later the absentee voting act says it can be replaced.

What happens when there are two acts that state opposite things?
Is it automatic the newest law replaces the older one? (without a legal mention of the old law being abolished)
Is the electoral Act supreme over other act related to elections?

No statute is binding over subsequently passed statutes. Only the Constitution has that effect.

Yeah, Yankee is correct here. I find it helpful to think of this in terms of the real-life U.S. Constitution; when the 13th Amendment was passed, Congress did not go back and cross out those sections of the original document explicitly or implicitly sanctioning slavery, as it was understood that the new amendment (or in this case, law) overrode any contradictory clauses existent in the constitution / statute without needing to explicitly say so.

Update on the NLLC

The Department of Justice can now report that, as of early this morning, SoFE Peebs is once again at liberty and her abductors taken into custody. We will continue our efforts to discover and prevent further terrorist activities by the so-called "NLLC," and to that end have introduced legislation in the House of Representatives to designate this group a terrorist organization.
