Let's not give Trump ideas. He has too many bad ideas as it is.

Sample quotes coming from @mikedebonis, @daveweigel chats w/GOP: The #AHCA bill is "Dead. DOA." "We're done with health care this year."

Republicans got tired of winning much faster than anticipated.

#44 looks definitely better than #45 right now. Definitely one of these defining moments about the Trump Presidency. Oh, and Trump's bluffing about Democratic cooperation and the law imploding. ObamaCare now is owned by the Republicans. There's no replacement plan forthcoming.

Good. The Ryan health bill is dead. I'm not a Republican, Democrat. I'm a centrist. If I were them, leave Obamacare alone. Focus on jobs, affirmative action,  crime, military.

Of course not. He has a long, long history of running from failures and then either spinning them or trying to pretend they never happened. He won't be able to do that with health care. "Obamacare" is now going to be an albatross around the necks of the Trumpublicans.

Obamacare keeps working: they tried to kill it.
Obamacare fails: they failed to replace/fix it.

Premiums have gone up with Obamacare. It's a super law.

What exactly are you expecting in 2018 that would make Obamacare less, instead of more, safe?

If Republicans win again by the same margin or so they could probably try again. The second time would probably be even less successful but they could try.

Trump told me he's willing to cut a bipartisan deal in the future: "When it explodes they [Dems] come to us and we make one beautiful deal
https://twitter.com/costareports/status/845366917917544449

TRUMP told me he is happy having this in the rearview mirror. "It's enough already," he said of the negotiations.

Focus on jobs, affirmative action.

Agree, we need to make sure there is more affirmative action.

This looks bad right now, but in reality republicans probably saved themselves from a 2018 shellacking by not passing this utterly terrible bill.
