Another spectacular move for the obvious party of women - the GOP!

Hasn't been signed into law yet, but given one chamber has already passed it and recent actions in Texas over abortion, I'm inclined to think it's on track to become law.

Thoughts?

I'm not even sure how this can be justified from a pro-life standpoint. The measure doesn't even directly target abortion, it just provides doctors the power to withhold pertinent information that may influence the decision to abort. All this would do is prevent mothers from being properly informed of the condition of their fetus, a gross violation of the trust between medical practitioner and patient.

Good. Wrongful birth is a disgusting concept that completely negates the value of those with disabilities or imperfections of one kind or another.  If someone wants to sue on another basis for information improperly withheld, they still can.

I don't have the emotional energy to read about this in detail right now. If it's just ending or limiting the practice of wrongful birth suits then I'm in favor of it, but I know enough about Texas lawmakers to suspect that aspects of it are probably significantly worse than shua believes or wants to believe.

Nothing is pro-life about this, just flat-out immoral and disgraceful.

Ugh, I feel bad for the kids 'causing' the lawsuit. That one will be hard to explain when they grow up.

It's hard to square "Mommy and Daddy love you soooo much!" with "Mommy and Daddy would have aborted you if they knew about your mongoloid face"

Another bill pertaining to women's health from the progressives in Texas.

This is the same place in which you can open carry a rifle on a college campus, but you can't open carry a dildo.
