A Time for Truth

Time flies, huh? Makes you think what could've been.

He was so close.  I'm at least glad a Republican is in the White House, but we could have had the best President in a long time, but alas. Sad

I think he would've been the nominee had Trump not run.

He was the runner up and the GOP base was sick and tired of establishment candidates like Jeb and Rubio.

Anybody else catch that "Make America Great Again?" I wonder if things would have been different had Cruz adopted that slogan first!

Cool, so I guess that means we're less than two years away from announcements of candidacy for the 2020 race.

If this video is two years old, it's almost two months older than Trump's announcement speech.

I know he said it before Trump announced -- I'm saying things would have been different if he had literally used it as his campaign slogan.

He would've been the nominee. Although he didn't a lot of the older WWC votes. Which makes me think he'd lose a close one with Hillary in the general.

So disappointed that he isn't our President right now, but we must continue on and work with what we have.

Probably because the video was made months before Trump descended down the escalator.

"Make America Great Again" seemed SO corny.  "A Time For Truth" seemed so much more compelling.  But "A Time For Truth" turned into "Lyin' Ted Cruz", and MAGA is now trademarked.

Periodically, there have been campaigns for "American Renewal".  Reagan is the most recent example, but Eisenhower's campaign and, to some degree, JFK's were about such optimistic themes.  "Make America Great Again" seemed so simplistic, but Trump's no fool, and he's no stranger to market research.  I'm sure he knew from the start that this theme was a winner and had great appeal for a critical group of GOP voters.
