Really depends on my mood I guess. To be tongue in cheek:

If it's bizarre, reactionary mood, then I guess 18th century Britain.
Corrupt spiv mood - Italy 1946-1993, LDP governed Japan, Haughey's Ireland (and 18th century Britain tbh)
Populist bullsh**tter mood - Definitely the United States towards the end of the 1960's and during the 1970's, Haughey's Ireland again and, well, now I guess.
Dull Christian Democrat mood - Germany 1949-1969 and Italy again of course.
