No, without Clinton supporters in my life, I would have no one to rub it into on a daily basis and thus all this would be meaningless.

there's still no such thing as the alt-left, and most of the people you try to fit under that label voted for Hillary.

besides my snark, you are totally right.

Explain why. They're SJWs.

the word you are trying to find is "progressive".

this is not some kind of "outer influence" invading the left, it is part of the modern left, while the far-right europan-styled "alt-right" is a new power which has conquered the republican party.

Unless you have friends/family who are literally heil hitlering and ranting about black people all day, cutting ties with them over politics is pretty stupid.

Well my uncle is one of the Trump cultists who wants us to start basically rounding up and exterminating the "Muslim filth" along with the Muslim Obama because they'll kill us all shortly if we let them. Roll Eyes

"Alt-left" is usually used to refer to a specific faction of Bernie people (Chapo, Jacobin, DSA, etc). Both Bhaskar Sunkara and the Chapo boys, IIRC, were urging a vote for Hillary in swing states. "SJWs" as a bloc were more universally pro-Hillary, in both the primary and the general.
Dark Shadowy Abyss wasn't a Sanders person IIRC and is certainly not alt-left.

Why would I cut ties with nearly all of my family and the majority of my friends?
