Russ Feingold
(Democrat-Wisconsin)
Standing Up For America

Offices held:
-Wisconsin State Senator from the 27th District (January 3, 1983-January 3, 1993)
-United States Senator for Wisconsin (January 3, 1993-January 3, 2011)
-Unted States Special Envoy for the African Great Lakes and the Congo-Kinshasa (July 18, 2013-March 6, 2015)

Key staffers:
Campaign Manager: Jeff Weaver
Senior Advisor: Mark Longabaugh
National Director: Julia Barnes
Communications Director: Michael Briggs
Press Secretary: Symone Sanders
Chief Strategist: Mary Irvine (Feingold's Chief of Staff)

Announcement in Janesville, Wisconsin on March 16, 2015

Today, Former Senator Feingold declared his intention to seek the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. The former US Senator has pledged to run a staunchly progressive campaign, including the following:

  • Medicare for All
  • Reinstatement of Glass-Steagall
  • Debt-free College and Preschool
  • Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour
  • Renegotiate disastrous free trade deals
  • Tightening campaign finance laws
  • Defending our environment

The Former Senator does not make this decision lightly, but is sick and tired of the middle and working classes being sold down the river by slick politicians who care only for lining their own pockets rather than doing their job. He also seeks to establish a national infrastructure plan to put our unemployed to work at a decent wage and reduction of drug sentencing laws.

Immediately after the announcement, Feingold began a tour of Wisconsin, stopping in Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Kenosha and Appleton, where he met with teachers affected by Governor Walker's efforts to bust public sector unions.

I actually wanted to change my character.

That's fine you can change.

AUGUST 2016: NEW HAMPSHIRE VOTER FORUM

Candidates:

1. (a) Discuss your primary economic agenda message (i.e. Sanders '16 = free tuition/rigged system), (b) YES/NO/EXPLAIN on Syrian refugees, and (c) YES/NO/EXPLAIN on decriminalizing recreational drugs

2. (a) Best Moment and (b) Worst Moment for your candidate [including an exchange with another candidate if you want]

**Keep the debate within your party, i.e. no Kasich vs. Franken**

I WILL RELEASE THE FIRST NEW HAMPSHIRE AND NATIONAL POLLS SHORTLY AFTER

Um . . . I know I sound like an idiot, but how exactly is this done? Do you judge the best moments or do we?

2a) During his early campaigning in Iowa and New Hampshire, Feingold held numerous lengthy phone conversations with Senator Tammy Baldwin, also of Wisconsin, also a leading progressive and the first openly gay US Senator in history. After a face-to-face meeting in Madison, Senator Baldwin endorsed Feingold

2b) Feingold was caught in an off-guarded moment while discussing his economic plan on a radio network in New Hampshire, referring to Dodd-Frank as a "major example of Clinton's spinelessness."

OOC: I don't think it's fair that we claim endorsements. If we do, I claim the RNC's endorsement. I win Tongue.

The moderator should decide whom endorses who as per usual in these games.

I think it's fair to claim endorsements if the person if from your candidate's home state and is from your candidate's party. Anything else should be asked.
