He'd have to become utterly poisonous to voters in a large number of Republican House districts and in a number of states in which he won handily, let alone in swing states and swing districts, and I don't know what would make that happen other than a smoking gun in a criminal investigation, so no, very unlikely.

It Donald Trump has a merely disastrous Presidency, he won't be impeached.  If Donald Trump has a shady Presidency, he won't be impeached.  He needs to have a blatantly criminal one to put enough pressure on Republican congressmen to get rid of him.

No, because it would take big gains for the Democrats in 2018 to make it theoretically possible, and even if we had a landslide election, we'd rather just use our new-found power to make Trump into a laughingstock and have him lose in a landslide in 2020 than throw him out of office, risk massive blowback, and get Pence instead.

No. This would require Republicans in Congress to show at least an infinitesimally small amount of humanity and shame, which they are simply not capable of.

A big ruckus about impeachment will be made, but he'll resign before that happens.

It will depend on whether the Republican leadership decides that he is squandering their power and dragging them down. If they get fed up with him, anything could happen.

If he is, it'll be after re-election, which itself is unlikely.

Impeachment is a bad joke (Nixon was pardoned, Reagan and Bush I got away with Iran-Contra, Bush II and Cheney got away with so much more - meanwhile, Bill Clinton got impeached in the context of a wave of tabloid-fueled sexual hysteria), so no.

Yeah, Johnson slipping through in 1868 set bad precedent.
