Which part? The CIA is OK. But I loath that asshole Director  Comey, a Republican partisan (he's a Republican) who is solely focused on his own reputation.  Comey's selfishness annd stupidity led to Hillary Clinton's loss and the  Trump Presidency and the agency is  infested with Trump supporters. Comey should be fired and no mercy shown.

Not really. The more necessary they are, the less I trust them. I have very little trust in the CIA, although I trust the FBI. My trust in the FBI almost feels misplaced, though.

Even if I trusted them to tell the truth (I don't), I don't trust them to act ethically or fiduciarily towards the American people or government.

I read (and often write) books with spy thriller aspects, so I can't answer this question holistically.

I trust them more than the Trump administration.
I also trust them them to be doing what they think is best for the country, regardless of whether it is best for them personally. I don't necessarily trust their judgement as to what is best for this country of ours.

I trust them more than the Trump administration.

This.

I also trust them them to be doing what they think is best for the country, regardless of whether it is best for them personally. I don't necessarily trust their judgement as to what is best for this country of ours.

And this.

I'm not exactly confident in the intelligence community's assessment on what liberties we must sacrifice for our security, but I know that Trump doesn't give a fig about such philosophical and ethical conundrums and only cares about enriching himself.

I trust Trump less than I trust the intelligence community.

I have mixed feelings about the intelligence community because I know while they do some good things, on the other hand I believe they also engage in questionable behavior.

It's like a car salesperson, some of the things they tell you is the truth, but a lot of it is B.S., and you can't be exactly sure which is which.

With Trump, I have no trust in him whatsoever to do anything right for the country in the larger picture of things.

Mini-bump.

FWIW, I'm not sure how much I can trust a bunch of anonymous leaks re: Russia from mostly unaccountable agencies that were originally founded with (and which have spent the vast majority of their existence focused on) the not-so-implicit purpose of fighting the Long War with Russia. Especially in light of the very real threats that said agencies perceive with regard to the Trump administration.

And no, I'm not excusing the actions of Trump's people or the Russian government.

Vince Flynn makes it quite clear we shouldn't trust them, just let them do their job.

Yes. I trust them when they confirm or deny allegations against public officials and/or others. But I’m opposed to overreaching wiretapping and espionage against close allies and believe that some agencies or single professionals have violated the law. I also believe that there must be more and better congressional and judicial oversight.
