Best 1944.  Roosevelt and Dewey were top quality candidates.

Also 1876.  Rutherford B Hayes and Samuel J Tilden were both well qualified.

Worst 2016. You can't believe what Trump says, as well as his many other flaws, and Clinton was an entitled, establishment , crooked candidate.  

Also 1972. McGovern was a leftist ideologue and Nixon was a crook.
