Can O'Reilly continue to make money for Fox on the back of ads for gold coins, term life insurance, diabetes supplies (reimbursable by Medicare), scooters (reimbursable by Medicare), and off-brand dietary supplements? Probably, if not as much as justifies his current salary.
The cash flows and perception generated by those kinds of advertisers would be fine for The Blaze or talk radio, which mainstream advertisers avoid like the plague, but not for primetime on Fox.

O'Reilly is a prat, but i find it unnerving that his fate (like all media stars) is ultimately dependent on the whims of conglomerates.

Fox says it dosent matter since the advertisers just shifted to other shows on Fox

The other shows aren't charging the same per minute as it costs on Oreilly's show though.

IDK...Fox is saying it dosent matter since he churns out the ratings.

I give Bill O Loofa a year before he leaves at his own volition

Well, Fox is going to say what make it sound good for Fox, but we do agree he's gone, eventually.

Trump says he did nothing wrong, unsurprising that one who rapes and sexually assaults women doesn't see what's wrong with this.

Roller derby got great ratings on TV -- but the people who were watching it on TV were so low in economic achievement that they had practically no disposable income. Advertisers found nothing that they could sell to such people -- not even such low-end products as antacids, detergents, mass-market beer, or financial rip-offs. For a short time a darling of television, it went off the air for a lack of advertising.

Bill O'Reilly is likely to become more toxic -- not less -- over time.

I have to admit, I occasionally watch Tucker as a guilty pleasure. Usually I'm watching Archer or South Park at that time though. There is nothing funnier to me than watching a 40+ year old man try and fool grandmas into thinking he's younger because he wears a bow tie. And then on top of that, he acts like a liberal. His style, his snark, his arrogance-these are all the same hallmarks of Chris Hayes, though Tucker is even better at it.

Ever notice how when Pat Buchanan or Alan Colmes would defend a point that they knew was BS, they'd laugh. I love Uncle Pat's BS laugh. He does it when he knows he's pinned down or in trouble. Like the time he called Obama "Al Sharpton's boy in the ring." Rachel Maddow, the queen of liberal snark, still manages to be the most likable person on cable in my opinion for this same reason. Tucker and Chris Hayes aren't capable of doing that. That's why they piss us off so much.

Hayes is the only MSNBC face I like, but yeah he has the same "Grandma's Good Boy" look that Tucker does. Least he doesn't wear a bow tie.

At this point I've accepted that cable news is one of those things I'm going to go through my entire life hearing about but never watching, but still hearing about second hand.

I guess sexual abuse pays in America

People don't like the FAKE NEWS MEDIA picking on their hero, period.

Evidently there are even more companies who plan on pulling out but can't yet due to various administrative / contract issues.

80? Unless most of these are temporary cancellations in order to ride out the storm, I don't understand how Fox keeps him on air. He won't be making them any money and would be a persistent liability, not to mention a stain on their reputation if even more women have stories to tell.

Loyalty as bad as it sounds. It's not like Bill is the only offender, the whole network from Roger to many others indulged in these kind of practises. The Factor is a massive show. While the ads being pulled may not justify his salary, he has made FOX huge money over the years so they will hang by him as long as they coan, hope this dies down after 2 months & hope the ads slowly start coming back. It's not like Fox will have a great reputation or a liberal audience if they fire Bill.

And there are some network effects, if he has good ratings that boosts the network overall & many times gets viewers to stick on & check out other Fox shows where they can earn through ads n stuff ! If this was Hannity or Tucker, they would probably have got fired but this is Bill, he's like a supposed legend for Fox !

This was probably mentioned last year, but I'll just add it here:

Putting aside my extreme dislike for people who decide to have children yet then avoid them like the plague and generally foster no bond or even interest in them, O'Reilly seems like an all-around awful person. Seems like he might also be a RINO too (Religious In Name Only)
