Adolf's mother remarries to a German American (with partial Jewish roots) named Carl Lang. An honest and hard-working man with no children on his own, he who would have a strong, positive influence on his stepson.

Instead of just one year, he spends full two working various menial jobs in the West and South. Upon witnessing Jim Crow laws on his own eyes, Dolph becomes an ardent opponent of racism.
1909: With enough money saved, and some scholarship, Dolph Lang enrolls in the Stanford University with an aim to become an architect. Although he dreamed of becoming a famous painter as a kid, he eventually took upon advice of his teacher to purse the architecture instead.
1915: Dolph goes back home with his architectural degree. After experiencing hard start, he eventually starts working in an architectural firm in Fargo, slowly climbing the ladder due to his hard work qualities.
1916: Dolph's mother Clara, a cancer survivor, and stepfather perishes in a train crash. Depressed, Dolph drowns himself in work.
1917: Dolph Lang enlists in the Army following declaration of war against Germany. Due to his roots and knowledge of German affairs, he is given staff work at General Pershing headquarters. Sanders doesn't run for state office as many times in the 1970s. He becomes an Independent at the end of his term on the Burlington City Council. He helps form the Vermont Progressive Party in 1995. Bernie Sanders registers Democratic on the day he delivers his endorsement of Barack Obama in 2008. In 2008 the Vermont Democratic Party and Vermont Progressive Party merge into the Democratic-Progressive Party of Vermont (like the Minnesota DFL). In 2008, most conservative Democrats leave the party for Independent or Republican affiliation. This party won 5/6 statewide offices, 91/150 State Representatives, 24/30 State Senators, 9/12 seats on the Burlington City Council and 4/8 Mayorships in Vermont in 2016.

*Both Patrick Leahy and Jane O'Meara Sanders did not pursue an additional term, in order to run for Vermont Governor. Howard Dean resigned the Vermont Governorship in 2004 to pursue a Senate career.

I seriously doubt JFK would live into the 1970's, nevermind the 1990's.

I'm not super familiar on how Addison's works, but I know the average life expectancy for a victim is 77.5 years. I feel that if JFK ended up leaving the stress of political life behind, and his family pressures him to get the whole Addison's ordeal dealt with for fear of his kids becoming orphans, he could very well survive.
