I would not be surprised if Lang joins the Non-Partisan League in North Dakota and campaigns for Bill Langer.

I would find it so interesting, if somebody goes the career ladder downwards.

I use the example of Al Gore, because he would have been president at a younger age.

- Member of the House of Representatives: 1977-1985
- U.S. Senator: 1985-1993
- Vice President of the United States: 1993-2001
- President of the United States: 2001-2005 (defeated for reelection)
- Vice President of the United States: 2009-2013 (during Barack Obama's first term)
- U.S. Senator: 2015-2021
- Member of the House of Representatives: 2021-2025
- Tennessee State Senator: 2025-2029
- Tennessee State Assemblyman: 2029-2031
- Member of the City Council: 2031-2035

Dolph Lang

1889 Born in New York City as Adolf Hitler to a couple of Austrian immigrants. Achieved the natural born U.S. citizenship by jus soil.
1891: Adolf's father, a former minor Austrian civil servant who, after losing his post decided to seek a new life in America, dies. Adolf's mother remarries to a German American (with partial Jewish roots) named Carl Lang. An honest and hard-working man with no children on his own, he who would have a strong, positive influence on his stepson.
1894: Adolf is formally adopted by his stepfather and given his surname, Lang. Later the same year, with some money he managed to acquire through his hard work, the family moves west, all the way to North Dakota (dominated by German Americans). They establish a moderately prosperous farm, growing mostly barley.
1906: After graduating (as salutatorian) from the high school, Dolph (as he went to be called now) decided to spent a full year working in hope of amassing enough money to attend college. Instead of just one year, he spends full two working various menial jobs in the West and South. Upon witnessing Jim Crow laws on his own eyes, Dolph becomes an ardent opponent of racism.
1909: With enough money saved, and some scholarship, Dolph Lang enrolls in the Stanford University with an aim to become an architect. Although he dreamed of becoming a famous painter as a kid, he eventually took upon advice of his teacher to purse the architecture instead.
1915: Dolph goes back home with his architectural degree. After experiencing hard start, he eventually starts working in an architectural firm in Fargo, slowly climbing the ladder due to his hard work qualities.
1916: Dolph's mother Clara, a cancer survivor, and stepfather perishes in a train crash. Depressed, Dolph drowns himself in work.
1917: Dolph Lang enlists in the Army following declaration of war against Germany. Due to his roots and knowledge of German affairs, he is given staff work at General Pershing headquarters. Until his death, Dolph would feel ashamed he didn't sniff a gunpowder. However, he is commended for his diligent service and is discharged as Captain.
1919: Dolph Lang returns to North Dakota, facing a civilian life.

TBC.

Is he going to become Ambassador to Germany?

Also, is his name change similar to Gerald Ford's?

Actually, I thought of Fritz Lang and decided it'd be a nice irony.

Jill Stein (G-MA)
Massachusetts State Representative (2005-2009)
U.S. Representative (2009-present)

Stein never contests the governorship in 2002, instead focusing on getting her message out there, and mounting a campaign for State Representative in 2004.

Bill Clinton (D-AR)
United States Representative from AR-3 (1975-1995)
Democratic Whip in the House (1981-1987)
Democratic Majority Leader in the House (1987-1995)
Speaker of the House of Representatives (1987-1995)
First Gentleman of Arkansas (1983-1995)
Vice President of the United States (1997-2005)
First Gentleman of the United States of America (1997-2005)

Hillary Clinton (D-AR)
Mayor of Hope, AR (1975-1981)
Attorney General of Arkansas (1981-1983)
Governor of Arkansas (1983-1995)
President of the United States of America (1997-2005)

In 1996, the Arkansas electors cannot vote for both Clintons so they vote for Hillary for President and vote for Ann Richards (D-TX) for Vice President. In 2000, the race is down to the wire and Hillary breaks 270 while Arkansas electors cannot push Bill over the threshold. The Arkansas electors write-in "Jefferson Clinton" for VP but this move is not counted toward Bill's total. The Vice President is elected by the Senate.

Jane O'Meara Sanders (D-VT)

Independent (before 1995)
Vermont Progressive (1995-2008)
Democratic (2008-present)

Burlington, VT City Council (1981-1989)
Mayor of Burlington, Vermont (1989-1993)
Vermont Secretary of Education (1993-1997)
United States Senator (1999-2005)
Serving with Bernie Sanders (1999-2005)
Governor of Vermont (2005-2015)
Chair of the DNC (2017-2025)
First Lady of the United States (2017-2025)
President of the United States (2025-2033)

Bernie Sanders (D-VT)

Liberty Union (before 1975)
Independent (1975-1995)
Vermont Progressive (1995-2008)
Democratic (2008-present)

Burlington, VT City Council Member (1973-1975)
Mayor of Burlington, VT (1975-1983)
United States Representative (1983-1995)
United States Senator (1995-2017)
Serving with Patrick Leahy (1975-1999)*
Serving with Jane O'Meara Sanders (1999-2005)*
Serving with Howard Dean (2005-present)
First Gentleman of Vermont (2005-2015)
President of the United States (2017-2025)
First Gentleman of the United States (2025-2033)

Sanders doesn't run for state office as many times in the 1970s. He becomes an Independent at the end of his term on the Burlington City Council. He helps form the Vermont Progressive Party in 1995. Bernie Sanders registers Democratic on the day he delivers his endorsement of Barack Obama in 2008. In 2008 the Vermont Democratic Party and Vermont Progressive Party merge into the Democratic-Progressive Party of Vermont (like the Minnesota DFL). In 2008, most conservative Democrats leave the party for Independent or Republican affiliation. This party won 5/6 statewide offices, 91/150 State Representatives, 24/30 State Senators, 9/12 seats on the Burlington City Council and 4/8 Mayorships in Vermont in 2016.

*Both Patrick Leahy and Jane O'Meara Sanders did not pursue an additional term, in order to run for Vermont Governor. Howard Dean resigned the Vermont Governorship in 2004 to pursue a Senate career.

I thought it would be cool if a couple ran together on a gubernatorial ticket together, so this is an alternate timeline where that occurs.

I seriously doubt JFK would live into the 1970's, nevermind the 1990's.

I'm not super familiar on how Addison's works, but I know the average life expectancy for a victim is 77.5 years. I feel that if JFK ended up leaving the stress of political life behind, and his family pressures him to get the whole Addison's ordeal dealt with for fear of his kids becoming orphans, he could very well survive.
