Been to Brazil (many times and to different regions), Chile (three times), Peru (three times), Uruguay (over 20 times, I guess), Venezuela (last time when I was 11 y.o), and Paraguay (only Ciudad del Este, close to the Iguazu Falls, several times during childhood/early teens)
(And I've traveled a lot of my home country)

Well, I've been to Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru.  Next up will be either Colombia or Venezuela.  I voted for Colombia.  Specifically, San Andres.

I'd have to go with Peru ... Machu Picchu, and all.

It's a wonderful experience.  Four-day, 44-km hike along the Inca Trail from Sacsayhuaman to Machu Picchu.  On the morning of the fourth day you can watch the sunrise at Inti Punku ("door of the sun") over the ruins of Machu Picchu.  Take clothes for all seasons.  The floor is about 200 meters above sea level but there are passes over 4000 meters high, so in one day you'll switch from shorts and a wifebeater to jacket and gloves and back again.  Lots of grueling ups and downs, made easier if you pick up a little packet of lejía y coca to consume en route.

South America is my favourite continent and I strongly intend to visit as many countries as I can, but Colombia will always have a special place in my heart for various reasons. Absolutely beautiful country with some of my favourite places and cities in the world.

Suriname and Guyana are the only South American countries I haven't travelled to, but I voted Argentina, because despite living there all my life, it's the South American country that I spent less time travelling around Tongue
