Agree?

Disagree?

Anyone have others to add to this list?

Are there any on this list who do not belong on the list?

I wonder how the Eagleton scandal would be handled today. Granted in today's world getting electro-shock therapy for depression would probably never happen.

It would certainly have lit up Twitter and Facebook, no doubt about that.

Is this worst in terms of worst electorally or worst as in worst people to choose as Vice-President and just all round bad choices?

Quote from the article:

Bill Miller wasn't a bad choice for a running mate. He had prosecuted Nazis during the Nuremberg trials. He was a former New York State Attorney General, a U.S. Congressman and was head of the Republican National Committee when he was selected as Barry Goldwater's running mate.

(Actually he was not New York State Attorney General, rather he was district attorney of Niagara County, New York )

I would like to make a case for William E Miller, Republican VP candidate in 1964.

He had some solid qualifications, a law degree, served honorably in the military as an officer, legal experience, political experience, and even prosecuted Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg.

He may not have helped the ticket, but neither was he detrimental to the ticket. Goldwater himself was the biggest drag on the ticket.

I do not believe that Miller belongs on the list.

I can only go by 1960 onwards so here it goes:

Top Ten Worst:

1. Thomas Eagleton
2. Sarah Palin
3. Curtis Lemay
4. Dan Quayle
5. Spiro Agnew
6. Geraldine Ferraro
7. Joe Liebermann
8. James Stockdale
9. Bob Dole (for his "Democrat Wars" comment)
10. Tim Kaine (he didn't really hurt the ticket, but he didn't help either and made a buffoon of himself in the debate with Pence. He also reinforced the notion that Clinton was too establishment)

Top Ten Best:

1. Walter Mondale
2. LBJ
3. Al Gore
4. George HW Bush
5. Joe Biden
6. Mike Pence (as someone else said, he gave Trump the Evangelical Vote. Another VP might've lost Trump the election)
7. Dick Cheney (for all the man's evil deeds and faults, he did help Bush in 2000 and it was seen as a respectable choice on both sides of the isle at the time)
8. Hubert Humphrey
9. Edmund Muskie
10. Jack Kemp

Nice to see you did not include William E. Miller on the "worst" list.
