Sets a whole load of sh**tty precedent. They should've just found another nominee. Now this is REALLY a stolen seat.

Yes, opposed to the existence of the filibuster unless it is limited to talking filibusters.

No, because I oppose Republicans confirming Gorsuch, but I'm still glad to see the filibuster gone.

Yes, this "stolen seat" thing is stupid, and his confirmation doesn't alter the composition of the Court

In isolation I don't mind it, but in the context of not giving Garland a vote, I think its really tyranny by the majority.

No, destroying Congressional procedures is only going to make it function worse.

No, but the Democrats' behavior on this has not exactly been admirable either.

It was never about Gorsuch to the Dems.  It was F YOU PUBS AND F U TRUMP.  Always.  It's best it's gone, regardless.

Yes. I would've supported the Democrats doing it to confirm Garland. We need a full court and these judicial wars are silly.

Sets a whole load of sh**tty precedent. They should've just found another nominee. Now this is REALLY a stolen seat.

Another nominee?  Why, so they could be filibustered too?

I thought the Democrats were pretty clear with the "find another nominee that everyone can be happy about, we'll help!" language, that this guy was not hot stuff to them.

They were complaining about the fact that he was endorsed by the Federalist Society.  Republicans want a conservative. That is what Trump campaigned on, and why a lot of people held their nose and voted for him.

I'm ambivalent about it, but it is not as bad as what they did to Merrick Garland last year.

In any other circumstance, yes it would have been fine, but because of the circumstances with Garland, Gorsuch and all Republican senators are forever tainted by it.

No, but there's no sense complaining about it. This is just another sign that Washington is broken, and the party in power will always try and muscle its agenda through, while not giving two sh**ts about the American people want.

No, they should have chosen a centrist consensus candidate, rather than a partisan hack to the right of Scalia.

Excellent precedent to set! hopefully this forces Democrats to offload their old farts and they get rid of the legislative filibuster!

Gorsuch was going to get confirmed no matter what. Trump was never going to find a centrist consensus candidate. Both parties moved exactly the way they were supposed to. Proud of Congress for standing up to stupid institutions like the filibuster.
