For those who didn't know, New York State has a budget dysfunctional problem. In New York, the new budget fiscal year starts on April 1 every year, but this March 2017, New York legislators and Gov. Andrew Cuomo could not agree on a 2017-18 fiscal budget plan. So, Cuomo and the legislators agreed on a two-month budget extender. Will this have an effect on the 2018 N.Y. elections?

New York State has never had a late budget before.

Senate Republicans in NY want to keep the law that prosecutes 16-17 yr olds like adults.    That, in effect, is what's holding up the budget.

Not to mention their DINO allies in the "independent Democratic caucus."

There is a budget agreement in Albany.

And it's not like New York hasn't had late budgets before.  It used to be a yearly ritual.

Caucus members are far from being real DINO's. Slightly more conservative then typical members of "loyalist group", but - only slightly. Ego, not deology, is a factor here.

Not sure how you came up with the thread title..

While it has been much better of late, NY had a long history of late budgets and there is nowvan agreement.
