This had to be asked, what with all these United threads amuck.

I'm going with Opt. 9 to stay on Cloud 9.

(That's Virgin btw, since they HQ themselves in SFO they usually cover most places that United does. But since Oakland is closer, easier, and Southwest and JetBlue are both usually cheaper out of there they are my usual go tos)

Virgin America is my favorite to fly on, but it's usually more expensive and both of its major hubs are in California, which makes it difficult to go east from here in Seattle. Delta is the best for more budget flights and East Coast/Midwest destinations.

For a few years around the beginning of adolescence I flew Southwest between Philadelphia and Providence quite frequently and generally by myself when going to visit my aunt. I have decent memories of most of those flights.

Delta isn't terrible on the long international flights that I've done, which are the flights where airline quality is most important to me.  And their wi-fi on domestic flights isn't bad, so I voted for them in this poll.

For short flights within the Midwest, I used to like Midwest Airlines, before they went under in 2010.  Amazingly good chocolate chip cookies.  Also, I once saw George Stephanopoulos on a Midwest Airlines flight.

1) Jet Blue
2) Southwest

Don't care about the others, if they're cheaper I'll take them.

Southwest, Delta, and American are the only ones that large groups people really use in the East.  Maybe United too.  I personally prefer Southwest because I can check two bags for free and watch live TV on the plane (also for free).

My flights to or from the US have usually been Air France or Delta.

Southwest, of course - by far the cheapest and most pleasant option flying out of Chicago (the alternative is Delta, which serves far fewer destinations at generally higher costs)

I am the sole American? I know nothing about flying, so I just shrugged my shoulders and picked it for all my business trips since I don't care.

I don't really fly.

I've only been on Delta and Southwest. Both were fine even if I did experience Direct Every Lifeform To Atlanta.

Southwest, since it's the only American airline I've been on before.

We should form our own airline and just hijack so-called planes other airlines "own", remove the pilots and stewards, and replace them with our own. We can call ourselves Triple A(Atlas's Amazing Airlines), have our summary be, "Kalwejt's Kool Kids Klub," and call ourselves Triple A Fourkay.

If I'm traveling from SPI (Springfield IL) the only choices are United through ORD or American through DFW. I regularly fly to Denver (Spirit there was one of my worst experiences ever) and sometimes on to Eagle/Vail which is only served by United and American. Obviously there are a wealth of flights in and out of O'Hare, and time is often more important than price which brings me to the two airlines that hub there, United and American. For instance when I traveled to Columbia SC a couple of weeks ago I took American out and United back. I like Delta, especially its route service from the old Northwest Airlines with hubs in MSP and DTW, but too often I can't get good connections from ORD to my destination on Delta.

Given my druthers, I prefer a road trip when time permits.

I was a United refugee who ended up at US Airways because of Jeff Smisek, so I'm on AA now. US had the best award chart, with a terrific TATL business class product, 60k low season business awards to Europe from PHL and 90k Star Alliance business class awards to Asia, even as far as Singapore. Great for an annual trip to Asia. Plus, I liked the hubs - PHL, PHX, CLT, DCA - great for getting places on the East Coast on time.

They were kind of trashy, selling credit cards at the end of flights and serving drinks in plastic cups in domestic first class until like 2012, but everyone is just as trashy now. Smiley I don't fly that much any more though, so I collect Avios instead of AAdvantage for the cheap short haul and Aer Lingus awards. You can't fly anywhere non-stop out of BUF or ROC anyway.

My family doesn't have a preferred airline, really.  We will take the airline that flies to where we want to go with the best deal and the best connecting flight times, every time.

I mostly fly Southwest, given the proximity to BWI/DCA, but I don't mind Delta or jetBlue.  I'd love to take Virgin America or Alaska at some point but haven't had the opportunity.
