All the best monarchs came before 1066 imo. The post-Norman invasion crew have largely been a mistake.

Although I'm not ANGRY or whatever about the monarchy, just I find the arguments in favour kind of baffling. "Preserving links to history"? That's the sort of logic a hoarder uses to justify why they keep three decades worth of daily newspapers in their living room.
