Be careful, never underestimate the fickle nature and stupidity of the average American voter. We still have 18 months to go before the next midterm. Remember back in October 2013 when Democrats were gleeful as Lyin' Ted and the Tea Party threatened to debt default and shut down the government? Republican poll numbers were collapsing. By the 2014 midterm, Americans had long forgotten of that. A year is a eternity in politics, and a year and a half is even more.
