List of American Presidents
45. Donald John Trump (R-NY) - 2017-20181
46. Michael Richard Pence (R-IN) - 2018-20212
47. Bernard Sanders (D-VT) - 2021-20253
48. Jason Kander (D-MO) - 2025-20334

1 Following investigations and continued annoyance with the job, President Trump resigns March 15th, 2018.
2 President Pence takes over with initially decent approval ratings before tanking due to widespread unpopularity of the GOP agenda. Pence faces 2019 with a Democratic House and Senate, with polls showing a even more sour mood against Pence in 2020. Pence runs in the primary, but faces a three way challenge between Ohio Governor John Kasich, a notable anti-Trumper, and ex-White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, who accuses Pence of disloyalty towards the past administration. Pence dispatches both challengers in Iowa with ease, but faces more difficulty in New Hampshire, where Pence gets a distant second to John Kasich (Bannon taking a sizable chunk of the ex-Trump vote that Pence might have gotten). Pence wins the nomination over Kasich and Bannon in an underwhelming fashion, and loses to Sanders/Kander by 10 points.
3 Sanders announces to a beloved nation on June 25th, 2023 that he has cancer and will not seek a second term. Vice President Jason Kander defeats a wide field to become the next President. Kander picks Kamala Harris as his running mate, and with a healthy economy and a still fractured GOP, dispatches Governor Eric Greitens by 9 points.
4 The economy takes a hit in 2027, which is enough to shake up Washington and send in a Republican majority in both houses. This makes Kanders' job harder (even as Kander wins again in 2028 against Katko/Haley), and his second term is considered one of Democratic ideological stagnation after years of large social democratic reforms under Sanders and most of Kanders' first term. Democrats lose in 2032 to a fundamentally re-organized, more moderate opposition.

44. Barack Obama (Democratic-IL) - 2009 - 2017
45. Hillary Clinton (Democratic-NY) - 2017 - 2021
46. Tom Cotton (Republican-AR) - 2021-2025
47. Tom Cotton (National Republican-AR) - 2025-2029
48. Stanley McChrystal (National Republican-KS) - 2029-2033
49. Eric Greitens (National Republican-MO) - 2033-2040*
50. Rebecca Adams (Democratic Unionist-GA)* - 2040-2045
51. Hector Ruiz (Democratic Unionist-AZ) - 2045-2050
52. Darius Jealous (Socialist-MD) - 2050-2060
53. Jack Donnelly (Conservative Republican-OH) - 2060-2065

55. Jack Donnelly (Conservative Republican-OH) - 2065-2070

*National Republican military government finally cedes power on the condition that none of the members of government are tried for their crimes.
*After years of divisive action by the National Republican administration, Americans yearn for a more centrist approach. Provisional Senator Rebecca Adams of Georgia represents that to a T. A former staffer for the Tom Cotton administration, Adams has ties to the National Republicans, but Adams proceded to break with them and side with more Democratic forces. Not a radical by any stretch, Adams advocated a slow, transition to a more moderate and open governmental process. Her five years in office were peaceful and productive - several pro-growth reforms allowed the economy to rebound after years of stagnation under the Greitens administration. Adams retired out of respect for the office.
*Hector Ruiz, the hand chosen successor of Adams, was a fellow moderate who proposed slightly changes to the economic model and more socially progressive policies. Ruiz, unlike Adams, aimed for re-election, but an economic recession closed that door fairly quickly. This also ended the Democratic Unionist party as anything other than a bit player in congress and a spoiler in Presidential elections.
