In any decent country, folks like John Kasich would be barred from running for elective office.

Agreed.
This is the worst election ever, just like 2004 2008 and 2012. Webb it is, I guess. I have no patience with moderate villains.

Why? Is he too good for us?

Real tossup, but I'd go with Kasich for his electoral strength.

Not bad candidates.  Jim Webb might actually be ok on defense.  Kasich is very qualified.  I'd vote for Kasich and would look forward to the debates.

Very troubling that Jim Webb is not winning this by at least a two-to-one margin.

There's hope for us yet, I guess.

Both are great, but I prefer Kasich since Webb is a bit of a protectionist.

Kasich is a phony and a jerk. I might vote Webb simply because he's more tolerable to me personally.

I go with Kasich obviously, Reagan Republican>Blue Dog Democrat
This. For as much as I was upset with him during the last election, I would choose him (cutting taxes) over Webb (raising taxes).

I feel like I'd be a lot closer to Jim Webb, both personality-wise and politically speaking.

So you're a generic liberal Democrat with a Southern accent and a patriotic streak?

Kasich. Anybody who feels the need to brag about killing somebody (regardless of whether during wartime) is an awful person.

I'd prefer it if Webb was more left wing on economic and foreign policy issues in particular, but he'd still have my vote regardless.
