Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Running with an undefined stance on Brexit will be a great strategy for Labour! The best! What could possibly go wrong?!

Independent: Jeremy Corbyn 'likely to stay on' even if Labour suffers crushing election defeat

WHAT A SURPRISE

Blair and his ilk inflicted decades of damage on Labour. Corbyn hasn't had adequate time to rebuild, especially with ongoing corporate sabotage.

Corbyn doesn't want to "rebuild" and is manifestly not trying to.

It seems that there are two parallel LAB campaigns.  Corbyn will tour districts the party needs to win to gain a majority in Parliament, while party’s headquarter, who control party funds and Corbyn as a liability, plan the defense of seats with majorities of 5K votes or more, conceding LAB seats with majorities of 5K or less as lost.

WTF. If they're conceding seats with narrow majorities as lost, then how in the world do they expect to pick up enough seats to gain a majority?!

Because there's no prospect of winning a majority.

The implication of the rumor is that Corbyn thinks there is.

It's just bizarre sub-Stanley Baldwin rubbish. Of course that style worked for him often enough.

What sorts of things did Baldwin do?

It seems with victory out of reach what Corybn should consider doing is to drive up LAB turnout in non-marginal seats to try to get to around 31% for the GB LAB vote.  If he does he can make an argument to stay on as LAB leader even with a large loss of number of seats.

It's Still His Turn!

It occurs to me that perhaps the Conservative manifesto was not entirely well judged in all respects.

I've been tuned out of this election for a couple of weeks. What was the matter with it?

How exactly is Corbyn catching up to May? I don't understand it.

Back in the old days, when threads such as this weren't clogged up by sh!tposts from sh!tposters, it would be easy enough to spot quickly the explanations. Alas we do not live in the old days! The answer is simple: the Tory manifesto was an appallingly arrogant document which included certain extremely unpopular policies (notably over social care). And Labour have run an old fashioned Party campaign (rather than one based around the personality of the Leader) and have a manifesto full of populist policies.

Could you (or another British poster) elaborate on some of the unpopular Tory policies? I know I asked this already some time ago but I haven't really had time to read up on it since then because I've been so busy with travel for school.
