Conservatives are allowed to say anything they want and get away with it. A Michigan mayor was recently caught on tape advocating euthanasia of the mentally handicapped and still has his job.

I'm shocked, absolutely shocked I tell you, that the state senator in question is a Republican.

If anyone says something offensive today, all they or their defenders have to do is shout "political correctness" at their detractors. It's more shameful and politically toxic to be "politically correct" than advocate forced euthanasia of the disabled or dehumanizing others.

Reminds me of the time back in 2010 or so that a Utah Republican state senator by the name of Chris Buttars referred to a legislative bill he didn't like as a "black baby" or "tar baby".

Expect no differently from Florida. I lived there for three decades and where I lived anyway, it was almost like people thought something was wrong with you if you weren't a an open racist.

Eh, shame on him. Both sides do that crap. Don't pretend that some Democrats don't have vile things to say to whites. He's foolish, but it is what it is. He's foolish.

It's disgraceful, but it is not impeachable. He will be defeated in the next election should he choose to run for re-election.

If I am with the Republican Party of Florida I am urging him to resign and give someone a chance to  to establish a record as a legislator and have a chance of being elected. Appointed pols may have  poor win-loss records in election bids, but those elected officials with a disgrace have even worse win-loss records.

This is so ing annoying, dude. You literally say this on every thread where a Republican is called out, but not on any one of English Pete's, Krazen's or any other R troll's threads.
He's a Republican playing "good cop" to pull tge Overton Window to be more Reublican. Just like this trigger tantrum here is design to do.

I'm a centrist, guys. I call both parties out. I have voted for both parties. What he, said was stupid, but a lot of Democrats have said similar things to whites. I will continue to call every party out.

No Party is the party of Lincoln nor Kennedy. Some Democrats have a lot of vile things to say to police officers and opioid victims. No party is really great. If ever there was a centrist party in this country.

If both sides are always the same...how do you decide who to vote for?
I look at the candidate and their party stances. I agree with Democrats on some issues, and with Republicans on some issues. Noth Sides Mean that Both Sides Have vileness. The parties are different, but both sides are Balkanized.

I am usually not surprised when I read about some state legislator hack doing something like this.  Some of the most absolute morons I have encountered have been members of my state legislature. Some of them are just stupid. And, arrogant at the same time.

This is why everyone hates moderates.

You need centrists and moderates. We need more Mark Warners sometimes. I have voted for the most liberal candidate and I have voted for the most conservative candidate. You need radical centrism sometimes. You can't fall off the cliff all the time.

The guy was probably drunk and his filter mechanisms were not working well, so he just let it all hang out. Bigots should not get drunk and then talk.

Seeing as how this dude always runs into trouble when he's in a bar, it's obvious he is a raging alcoholic.

BUT BOTH SIDES HAVE ALCOHOLICS
