Wow, Labor might be the only party in triple digits unless the Tories clean up in the recounts.

Only about 10 seats are being recounted with a Tory candidate, so Labor will be the only the only party in triple digits - by a large margin.

Also, I'm disappointed no one is laughing at my (admittedly poor) joke.

Recount results from the Atlantic states

- In Sea Islands North, Libertarian Mark Sanford has unseated Civic Union's Tim Scott by a margin of 3,400 votes. Sanford, a former Liberal, was kicked out of the party for having an affair with an Argentinian woman, leaving him powerless in the Governor's mansion. However, he managed to rebrand himself in 2018, leading to victory.

- In Chincoteague, Labor's Lynwood Lewis unseated Civic Union's Scott Taylor by a margin of 4,300 votes. Lewis's strong connections to the district, as well as Governor Ralph Northam's, another district native, assistance, helped him defeat Taylor.

- In Powhatan, Conservative Leslie Haley has unseated The Alignment's David Brat by a margin of 2,300 votes.

- In Piedmont South, Labor's Nancy Vaughan has unseated Civic Union's Ted Budd by a margin of 2,300 votes. Budd's insensitive comments about rape and abortion were out-of-step with the liberalizing district, and Vaughan's status as a woman allowed her to directly attack Budd for his insensitivity.

- In Ontelaunee, Labor's Manan Trivedi unseated Civic Union's Ryan Costello by a margin of 3,940 votes. Trivedi touted his credentials as a veteran. However, Costello was brought down by the revelation of a pay-to-play scandal from 2009, during his tenure as Chester County Recorder of Deeds.

- In Dutch, Labor's Rob Teplitz has defeated Civic Union's Lloyd Smucker by a margin of 3,400 votes. This was a rematch from 2016, and Smucker had not evolved enough as a candidate, and with the pro-Labor national climate, was not able to unseat Teplitz.

- In Poconos, Labor's Matt Cartwright defeated The Alignment's Dave Argall by a margin of 6,400 votes.

- In Delaware, Labor's Bryan Townsend defeated Civic Union's F. Gary Simpson for the open seat by a margin of 6,500 votes.

- In Chesapeake, the Alignment's Stephen Hershey has unseated Conservative Andy Harris by a margin of 5,600 votes.

- In Green Ridge, Labor's Karen Lewis Young has unseated Civic Union's John Delaney by a margin of 5,300 votes. Delaney's image was hurt by rumors spread on the internet, originating on some obscure forum, about his desire to bring back the First Constitution and install himself as President of the United States.

Midwest recount results

- In Galesburg, Labor's Cheri Bustos has unseated Civic Union's Dave Syverson by a margin of 5,200 votes.

- In Flint Hills, Conservative Sam Brownback unseated Civic Union's Lynn Jenkins by a margin of 4,000 votes. Jenkins was hurt by the Labor candidate, Paul Davis, splitting her base.

- In Cimarron, Conservative Bryce Marlatt has unseated Farmer-Populist Randy Bass by a margin of 8,300 votes, reflecting similar results in the southern Great Plains.

- In Oklahoma, Conservative James Lankford has been reelected and defeated the Alignment's Steve Russel by a margin of 4,200 votes. Lankford was aided by the endorsement of OKC mayor and Civic Union member Mick Cornett.

- In Spring Lake, Civic Union's Jason Lewis has defeated Labor's Angie Craig by a margin of just 528 votes. This comes as a surprise, as many considered Lewis DOA due to the Labor-Farmer Populist electoral alliance in Minnesota.

- In Green Bay, Labor's Amanda Stuck has unseated Civic Union's Mike Gallagher by a margin of 2,340 votes. Interestingly, this pair of frontrunners is the youngest of any constituency in the country - combined, their ages are 69.

- In Omaha, Labor's Heath Mello has unseated Civic Union's Brad Ashford by a margin of 2,400 votes. Ashford was harmed by the Conservative candidate, Don Bacon, who siphoned votes away from Ashford.

- In Pikes Peak-Tava, Conservative Owen Hill has unseated The Alignment's Doug Lamborn by a margin of 2,100 votes. Lamborn lost the support of Liberals-turned-Civic-Union voters, and with it, the election.

The amount of detail here is amazing, Kamala. Mazel tov on doing this so efficiently!

Most of my favorites lost (RIP), so if I was a voter in this TL, post-election, I'd prob have no party affiliation until one of the splinter parties proves to be a worthy vote.

Well, no incumbent MPs were Christian Democrats. The Christian Democrats ran approximately 250 candidates, with most of them being Some Guys. Some Conservative candidates were endorsed by the CDs, and some were standing on a fusion ticket.

Here's a question: are there minimum requirements for caucus-formation? Like, with Tim Kaine being the only Christian Democat, he can't form a Christian Democrat caucus, can he? In Canada I think the minimum is 12 MPs to count as a caucus.

Caucus formation is relatively easy, a caucus only needs 1% of the seats of Parliament (that is, 4 seats) to form a caucus. However, the Native Interests Party is allowed to sit on its own, regardless of memberships.

Rest of the recount results

- In Chiricahua, former Representative Labor's Gabby Giffords has unseated Civic Union's Martha McSally by a margin of 1,034 votes. McSally's role as Veterans Minister was a key issues during the campaign, with Major General Robert Walters, commander of Fort Huachuca, an army base within the constituency, endorsing Giffords over McSally "for not doing enough to support Arizona's veterans." An assassination attempt on Giffords's life in 2011 resulted in brain injury and her resignation from Parliament, with Ron Barber initially winning the by-election following her resignation, and McSally winning the general election later. Giffords's condition has greatly improved since the shooting, but she still campaigned alongside her husband, astronaut Mike Kelly, selling themselves as a team to work in Parliament.

- In Paradise Valley, The Alignment's David Schweikert has unseated Civic Union's Jeff Flake by a margin of 3,400 votes. Schweikert was aided by the endorsement of former Conservative Prime Minster John Kyl, whose former district covered a portion of Paradise Valley.

- In Maricopa, Labor's Juan Jose Mendez has unseated Civic Union's Kyrsten Sinema by a margin of 2,400 votes. This seat was already a marginal one, but many former Liberal voters were unhappy with Sinema, considering how she was the one who instigate the collapse of the Liberal Party by nominating Ileana Ros-Lehtinen for leader.

- In Mendocino-Yuba-Sutter, Civic Union's John Garamendi has been reelected and defeated Labor's Cecilia Aguiar-Curry by a margin of 4,500 votes. Garamendi was still popular with many former Liberal-turned-Alignment voters, and was able to avoid much of the same fate as his party colleagues.

- In Tuolumne, Labor's Adam Gray has unseated Civic Union's Jeff Denham by a margin of 2,300 votes.

- In San Joaquin South, Labor's Joaquin Arambula has unseated Farmer-Populist Emilio Huerta by a margin of 1,850 votes.

- In Los Padres, Labor's Salud Carbajal has unseated Civic Union's Jordan Cunningham by a margin of 5,400 votes. The constituency has rapidly turned more leftist since the last election, and this doomed Cunningham.

- In Death Valley, Labor's Phillip Talbert has unseated Conservative Paul Cook by a tight margin of just 503 votes. Cook's age was a major question in the campaign, and Talbert touted his service as U.S. Attorney for the District of Eastern California, specifically as he tried corporations violating water rights.

- In San Gabriel, Labor's Henry Stern has unseated Civic Union's Steve Knight by a margin of 3,000 votes.

- In Joshua Tree, Labor's Raul Ruiz has unseated The Alignment's Jeff Stone by a margin of 5,600 votes. Ruiz ran on a campaign of expanding EWIG hospitals to rural California.

- In Chino Hills-Nixon, Labor's Sharon Quirk-Silva has unseated Civic Union's Ed Royce by a margin of 3,000 votes. This is the first time in the past fifty years that this district, former seat of two-time 11-year Prime Minister Nixon,  was represented by someone other than Union for the Republic/Liberal/Civic Union.

- In Huntington Beach, Conservative Dana Rohrabacher has been reelected and defeated Labor's Hans Keirstead by a margin of 5,050 votes. The constituency's conservative voters were not ready for the "radical agenda" of Labor, as Rohrabacher described it.

- In Irvine, Civic Union's Mimi Walters has been reelected and defeated Labor's Sukhee Kang by a margin of 3,400 votes. Walters managed to separate herself from the national party and portray herself as "above the fray" of Washington politics.

- In Oceanside, Labor's Doug Applegate has unseated The Alignment's Darrell Issa by a margin of 5,000 votes. Issa was discovered to have avoid taxation by storing money in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland.

- In Alaska, Labor's Mark Begich has unseated Libertarian leader Don Young by a margin of 3,900 votes. Young was portrayed as out-of-touch after 45 years in Parliament, combined with how his leadership of the Libertarian party forced him to spend more times at headquarters in Denver and Phoenix than in Alaska.

- In Red-Sabine, Labor's Foster Campbell has unseated Conservative John Fleming by a margin of 4,500 votes. Campbell harkened back to the days of "Old Labor" with its focus on farmers and workers, which resounded well with Red-Sabine's voters.

- In Pontchartrain-Atchafalaya, Labor's Caroline Fayard has unseated Conservative Bill Cassidy in the closest race this election - by a margin of just 134 votes. Fayard's energetic campaign and Cassidy's middling positions gave Fayard ever the slightest advantage. Additionally, experts say that the extension of voting hours benefitted Fayard, as communities realized the need to vote and mobilized voters to the polls.

You have Libertarian listed as Farmer-Populist...and to make the seats and parties appear in blue, just link them to a page that already exists like this [[Barack Obama|Labor]], [[Bernie Sanders|Burlington]].

This is great Kamala!

Thank you - I think I'm fine with it not linking to anything, that's not really important since it's not clickable. Thanks for catching the error, though!

Chapter 2.8: Aftermath

12:23 AM local time, Fort Yukon, Alaska
"I wish the rest of the Libertarian Party good fortunes in pursuing a smaller, fairer government for all Americans. The people of Alaska have spoken, and I wish my successor, Mark Begich, all the best in representing Alaska in Washington. It is only appropriate I step down as leader of the Libertarian Party."

1:22 AM local time, Spokane, Washington
"We fought hard and we gave it our all. We minimized losses and we kept our message strong. However, it is clear new leadership is needed in the Conservative Party, and I wish my successor the best. I will remain in Parliament as a dutiful member of the Conservative Party, fighting for traditional values and American families. I officially announce my resignation as Leader of the Conservative Party. Good night."

2:30 AM local time, Moorhead, Minnesota
"Going into this election I have already been thinking about retirement. But our party caucus convinced me to stay on for one more term, to lead the party and make gains. Unfortunately, tonight, voters have shown they disagreed with some of our goals. And we lost a hefty part of our colleagues. I did some introspection and self-reflection tonight, and I look back at my career: for the fourteen long years of my tenure, the Farmers-Populist have had their ups and downs. And now, it is time for me to pass on the torch of leadership to a bright star in our party, someone the party has previously approved for leadership. That bright star will bring back our party to its reputation as the only party fighting for farmers, the only party fighting for rural folk, and the only party who knows what a hard day's work really means. It is why I am officially announcing my resignation as leader, and instead introduce the next Leader of the Farmer-Populist Party of America: Stephanie Herseth Sandlin!"

The Queensboro Bridge, of course!

I mean, looking at the district I guess that makes sense but something like "Metropolitan" (for the museum and that it's kind of the center of the city or whatever) or "Vanderbilt" (the builder of Grand Central and an early New York businessman) or "Yorkville" (my neighborhood Tongue) might make more sense. Just a nitpick, doesn't really matter...

TKCD stands for "Tim Kaine's Christian Democratic Party of America," the official name of the Christian Democrats.
NAP stands for "National Alignment Party," the official name of the Alignment.
Currently, the NPSW is considering a name change to "American Section of the Socialist International," but ASSI has not been well-received. The party is conducting a national contest to find a new name, in which party members are able to submit names. (which means you guys can too.)

I have no clue what they'd be, and I don't want to be wildly inaccurate.
A wild guess would be:
Labor about 40-43%
Tories about 20-25%
CU about 15-18%
Alignment about 10-13%
NPSW about 2-3%

How about "America Untamed" or "America Unbowed" for NPSW? Like La France Insoumise.
