Apparently an amendment called "MacArthur Amendment" that has won 18-20 new votes from the Freedom Caucus. So what about this amendment is bad well the idea is high risk pools for people with preexisting conditions. For example people with lung cancer are going to pay an extra 73k a year. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/04/20/conservative-republicans-reportedly-pleased-with-changes-to-health-care-proposal.html,  https://twitter.com/alexkotch/status/855068500406280192

It has more freedom caucus votes, but it won't get any more support from moderates, or the public.

I was debating which one is the adjective and which one is the verb. I guess I got it wrong.

Edit: Happens to everyone every now and again.

People have been comparing this to Carter's administration, which is unfair. Carter was infinitely more competent than Trump.

Lose: verb to cease possession (which can be of a quality as of an object) or misplace, or to be defeated in a game. Simple past and past participle lost. Present participle (which can be an adjective) losing. Derivative noun: loss.

Examples: Shares of Enron common stock have lost all value as its executives lost all credibility.
I lost the car keys, only to find them in the sofa.

Loose ; usually an adjective -- not rigidly connected. Opposite of "tight". Also contrary to normal expectations

Examples: Loose clothing better insulates one than does tight clothing.
Loose women may be fun, but they are troublesome.
Loose lips sink ships.
The fool opened the barn door and set the horses loose.

It can be a verb, really meaning"set loose"

"He shall loose the fateful lightning of His terrible, swift Sword!" (Battle Hymn of the Republic)

Loser: someone who loses. The Chicago Cubs long had a reputation of "lovable losers".
Don't be a loser: stay in school, and don't use drugs.
Gambling casinos are rich because of the losers that they entice to feed slot machines.

So basically the Republicans have been whittled down to changing community ratings and that's what they're passing? I don't get it. Can someone explain the deal?

Never mind.

As long as this remains, this isn't passing. Maybe the House, but not the Senate.

Petty vindictiveness. It's not just a Republican trait.

Funny thing is most Democrats I've seen on twitter are more than happy to fight this fight.

Also does Trump not know that the worst his approvals have been was during the health care debate?

They just want something--anything--to pass the house at this point, and hope that the completely different bill the senate produces would fly with house conservatives.  The fact that Trump wants to force Democrats to the table by withholding cost-sharing subsidies, effectively holding the American people hostage, tells us that this prospect is pretty dim.

Where does the 73K figure come from? I can't find it on the link. Assuming it is true, I think added into coverage mix should be an assisted suicide benefit, so when say one gets lung cancer, instead of going bankrupt, leaving your family bereft, you could just get an MD to inject you wish a massive dose of heroin, so you can fly high to heaven in style. Make sense?

I am sensing HEAVY SKEPTICISM from senior House Republicans about a vote next week. And I'm putting that mildly.

Those are the figures of what it would be without the high risk pools.  I would expect people with cancer would be first in line for the high risk pools. People with depression or diabetes would be the ones more likely to find themselves having to pay the higher rates in order to get coverage.  High risk pools might not be a bad idea if it  it were adequately funded - Medicare is basically a high-risk pool, the high-risk factor being old age.  But these pools have not been adequate where they've been tried, and the GOP plans on this are no better if not worse.

You do realize that would equally hurt non-Trump voters in those states right?
