"One should avoid one extreme and one should avoid the other extreme too. One should be located between the two extremes. The distance to the two extremes should be equal."

or

"One should not be too extremist neither for one side nor for the other side, but should also not be too moderate. One should find an equilibrium between extremism and moderation."

A true moderate hero would say both sentences have merit and the truth is somewhere in between.

Most moderate heroes would say the first sentence. I know a lot of people who vote for D66...

The OP (and Antonio's response) kind of exemplify the ridiculousness of the moderate hero (golden mean) fallacy.

This is moderate heroism at its finest.

Both are equally perfect and flawed.

Option 2, it's more nuanced. Option 1 is the flat-out centrist option, which is often confused with moderate heroism. The heroic aspect of moderate heroism is that you're extreme in some respects, but temper that out with moderation for the good of the vital center. That's how I am; I recognize my liberal politics aren't acceptable to the people who matter, so I'm willing to compromise heavily in the hopes of avoiding worst-case scenarios. That being said, if such scenarios materialize anyway, then moderate heroism ceases to be a viable option.
