Cross-post from the Rahm Emanuel thread in US General Discussion:

And of course, the icing on the cake:
The Obama Foundation Launches With Lobbyists and Wall Street at the Wheel

There's a lot more where that came from, of course.

It's true most of them sucked, but Tim Geither was one of the most successful Treasury Secretaries in modern history. He wasn't a banker. He was a career civil servant. He wasn't a prosecutor; it wasn't his job to bring people to justice. He was in charge of the Treasury Department, period. In that role he did a spectacular job. His Public-Private investment partnership was so successful, it wasn't even needed. Merely the announcement of the program restored confidence. If you had told people when he took office that the government was going to make money on the bailout, no one would have believed you. I wouldn't have believed you. If you had said Fannie and Freddie would be paying billions per quarter into the Treasury, no one would have believed you. He got so much criticism too, he was basically a whipping boy at the time, almost as bad as Hillary Clinton is now. Everyone loved to hate him. He just kept his head down and got it done.

The others are terrible yes, but don't lump in Tim with them.
