1) Does he continue running for Senate this year?

2) If he doesn't, who is the replacement nominee?

3) If he wins his Senate race and the Presidency, who will be appointed to fill his vacancy?

Answer me these questions three.

I suspect:

1) Yes

2) His son

3) His son

I hope he doesn't continue running. Joe Lieberman's hedging his bets indicated that he didn't think that VP thing would work out. In fact, Lieberman was particularly useless to Gore during the recount, I suppose he didn't want to offend his Republican friends by pushing to have every vote counted. Lieberman supporters get really really mad if you bring this up.

Although in this case, it doesn't matter as much: Democratic governor, and it's unlikely that the Senate will be 50/50.

Of course Biden still runs for re-election.  He's got Joementum.

It's not like Biden would be in any danger of losing his reelection bid (nor is there much danger of the Dems losing the Governorship this year). It's only an issue if his continuing to run hurts the ticket (doubtful it'd be a big issue).

Though he could step aside and allow his son to take his place.

I think it's more likely Beau Biden just runs. But maybe he'll run for re-election.

His son will replace him if he decides not to run for the Senate. However, it's going to be a bit difficult for Beau since he's headed to Iraq for awhile.

Gosh, if it's NOT Biden, my blog is screwed out of all credibility (and so is CNN and NBC).
