Hermione Granger
*veteran of the Second Wizarding War
*known for her intelligence and courage, and comes from a humble background
*champion of ending bigotry in many forms, including race and bloodline
*vigilant in watching out for new signs of trouble, and unafraid to confront them
*has experience as Minister of Magic in the United Kingdom, and previously in charge of the Law Enforcement Department
*husband: Ronald Bilius Weasley; children: Rose Granger-Weasley and Hugo Granger-Weasley

Aragorn II Elessar
*veteran of the War of the Ring and many minor battles
*aged, experienced, wise, but appears remarkably young for his age and raised by nobles yet lived in the wilderness
*welcoming to all peoples within and beyond his borders, humble, and willing to grant autonomous regions
*has experience as King of the Reunited Kingdom of Gondor and Arnor, and previously as Chieftain of the Dunedain
*wife: Arwen "Evenstar" Undomiel; children: Eldarion and multiple daughters

Leia Organa of Alderaan
*veteran of the First Order Blitzkrieg and the Galactic Civil War
*experienced, tough, brave, eager to take initiative, raised in a noble household but apathetic to titles and traditions
*a populist who believes in decentralizing government but believes it should be effective with little red tape in the things it should do
*vigilant in watching out for new signs of trouble, and unafraid to confront them, even if it means going beyond the ordinary and cutting through the bureaucracy
*has experience as Founder and General of the Resistance, a founding Senator in the New Republic, leader in the Rebel Alliance, member of the Imperial Senate, ambassador in diplomatic missions, and Princess of Alderaan
*husband: Han Solo; children: Ben Organa-Solo

Jon Snow of Houses Stark and Targaryen
*young veteran of the White Walker Invasion, the Rebellion Against the Usurper Boltons, the Night's Watch Mutinies, and Mance Rayder's Wildling War
*humble, idealistic, and welcoming to refugees and anyone willing to work as an ally against greater threats, raised among nobility but not part of it then chose to serve in a brotherhood
*weary of war, but unafraid to do his duty, and willing to be first to charge into battle and fight alongside his army
*disregards court intrigues that consumed and distracted so many peers, to focus on the bigger existential threat, never losing his focus or commitment
*has experience as King in the North, and previously Lord Commander of the Night's Watch
*no spouse or children yet

Aragorn, since I can't really speak out against a man with:

that look in his eye.

Hermione would be an excellent Senator though.

Please explain why?

Also, I'm personally torn between Hermione and Leia. I like Hermione's focus on confronting bigotry and sheer brilliance and familiarity with our world, but also Leia's willingness to break through the bureaucracy and vast experience and initiative (though she might be too decentralist for me on domestic issues)... and both are great at being alert and willing to confront any threats.

I'm open-minded to Aragorn too, though we don't know much about how he actually ruled, other than it was long and peaceful and just and prosperous and he granted autonomy to the Shire and Druadan and expanded territory without conquest while apparently being hands-off.

I just don't think I'd vote for Jon Snow: he isn't bad, but he's not as good as these other three.

Leia Organa, because she has the ideology of her mother Padme Amidala plus she is a Skywalker through her father Anakin.

She has extensive political experience as a:

Princess of Alderaan
Senator from Alderaan in the Imperial Senate
Leader in the Alliance to Restore the Republic
Republic Senator in the New Republic
WAS going to be First Senator of the New Republic until the Senate found out she and her brother Luke were the children of Darth Vader.
General and leader of the Resistance, a military offshoot of the New Republic
Effective leader of the New Republic due the First Order's destruction of Hosnian Prime and the deaths of the Senate and Chancellor.

Part of it is because I like Star Wars more than the other franchises here. And also because being a resistance leader is great credentials.

Princess Leia, to shrink the state, even if she's a bit socially liberal for my liking.

Preference for Aragorn comes from my childhood love for the saga, my familiarity with it, and the Christian/Catholic basis upon which both the story and his character rest (and I don't mean in some wholesome or milquetoast fashion so much as his portrayal of strength through mercy and the like).

If I'm forced to pretend this is a political choice, Granger is probably the candidate of the Campus Left, and Organa's primary accomplishment is throwing the Galaxy into a state of permanent war. Snow remains untested.

I would be a massive Hermione hack, if she were real and a politician. I can just see a Hermione vs. Trump debate: "No, no, you're saying it wrong. It's 'big league' not 'bigly.'"

?

How?

Both Hermione and Leia are socially liberal, though Hermione is probably moreso. Leia favors decentralized government, and we don't know Hermione's opinion on that. Both support standing strong and being alert to any potential threat.

They are all probably way too squishy on economic issues being privileged royalty/posh and all.

Snow seems like he'd be the most economically progressive, living as a bastard on the wall and all.  Could be stubborn and make colossal mistakes.

Aragorn seems like a high-integrity dignified George Washington figure that would surround himself with talent but would probably be somewhat too conservative.

Leia - idk how progressive she'd be, she seems tough and effective though.

Hermione would be strong on social issues, IDK how she would be on class ones (which are more important to me), probably okay.  She's easily the smartest and most knowledgeable on policy of these.  She'd probably be a fairly bad/uncharismatic/grating candidate.  Her as the power behind the throne/advisor of somebody else would be good.

Lean Snow, despite him not being a super genius.

Also notice how the men in this scenario suck ...

That's because you have 2 real and amazing women to choose from and not a fake scarecrow like Hillary.

Leia's amazing experience and capabilities are exceptional. I'm pretty surprised Antonio V would like her, though.
