Turn On
Free Agency Phase 1
Team Needs

Boston Red Sox

When thinking of how the Red Sox are changing going into the 2017 season, only one thing comes to mind. Big. Papi. The power-hitting DH broke the Curse of the Bambino and played a major role in all three of the Red Sox World Series wins during his time with the team. They'll definitely need to find a way to keep their bats hot without Papi if they want to be contenders.

Kansas City Royals

For the Royals, it's their pitching that needs some work. The starting rotation produced middle of the road results this season and if they want to make a run for the Series, they'll need to bring someone in who can be their ace. They also need to bring in some relievers who can help their relatively young starting rotation make it through the game.

Oakland Athletics

The A's were at the bottom of the pile in 2016 with their baserunning and defense, which, coupled with their sub-par batting, produced a last-place finish in the AL West. They'll need to bring some speed into the clubhouse, someone who can steal a base and create opportunities. The outfield also produced a lot of errors in 2016. To counter this, A's front office should look into bringing in some veterans to mentor their younger players.

Seattle Mariners

For the first time in a long time, Seattle's offense was top-notch. The crossed the 700 runs mark and came in second only to the Boston Red Sox. While SS Ketel Marte was a major threat behind the plate, his defense let the team down. Finding a new SS and 1B could turn this team into a big threat.

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds are a team plagued with many seasons of disappointment. It would take a lot to turn the club around, but it's not impossible. Perhaps the biggest need of the team is fixing the bullpen and bringing in some new relief pitchers. In 2016, the bullpen led the MLB in homeruns allowed. Fixing that would be a big step towards righting the ship.

San Diego Padres

It is possible that Padres are set up to finally pay off from over a decade of rebuilding. Players they've acquired from previous trades may be ready to be the spark the team needs. While the offensive is possibly on the cusp of greatness, the pitching rotation is full of holes. Patching those with an ace and a Number Two could be just what the club needs.

As I said previously, that would be a multi-year process. At most, this will be a two season game. You can announce yoir intentions to relocate whenever you feel, but you will not see that come to fruition in this game.
