No, please don't engage in revisionism.  Tongue  I did not suggest the poll you made here, which looks at preferences in the 2016 general election.  I suggested a poll that compares preferences in the 2016 presidential *primaries* to preferences in the French runoff.  The poll you actually made here is less interesting to me.  (No offense.)

What got me curious was when I saw multiple Socialist avatars in the other thread saying that they were either undecided or would vote for Le Pen.  That got me wondering if Le Pen support among Dems would come more from Sanders supporters than from Clinton supporters.  So is Le Pen's support on the forum a coalition of Trump and Sanders supporters, whereas Clinton supporters and anti-Trump Republicans are Macron's base?

i have re-read your post after creating this poll and realized my mistake ....and became disappointed again, that you can't edit existing polls. <.<

This, but Melenchon/Sanders would be the ideal if they made it.

Johnson/Macron, would've been Clinton/Macron in a swing state or McMullin/Macron in Idaho and Utah

Abstain/Abstain

Or Clinton/Macron if the respective electorates were the same size as the U.S. Supreme Court.

and i am often surprised how many US citizens are hell-bent to make economical questions the only important litmus test of all or suggest others should follow suit.

democracy and liberalism > more spending.

What do you see in Le Pen that you didn't see in Trump? Or maybe should I ask, what do you see in Le Pen that you also saw in Clinton?

Presumably some sort of anti-big businesses semi-left-populism.

I never fell for Trump's populist rhetoric, he was a clear fraud. Not to mention he's a part of the Republican party, and chose Pence, so it was clear that the generic wing of the party wasn't going to lose it's prominence. Clinton wasn't perfect on economic (and certainly on foreign policy) issues but after Bernie the party was moving leftward and she was definitely the better bet.

Maybe I would feel differently if I actually lived in France but Macron's positions on trade and taxes and spending just seem awful to me. Le Pen at least seems genuine in her rhetoric, not to mention she isn't part of the traditional conservative party of the country and would also have to pander to her working class base.
