I'll sponsor this one if needed.

I've always felt pretty strongly about this.  Adult is adult!  There's no special super adulthood that happens when people turn 21 that makes them suddenly more eligible to drink alcohol.  You turn 18 and society considers you an adult, you can vote and drive.  You can get married and are considered an independent person by the law.  You can go to war... but oh ho!  Sorry!  You'll have to wait to drink a glass of wine?  That's so weird.

Thank you for sponsoring this, Senator Siren.

I have to agree with your argument here. I would also add that I daresay that the 21 drinking age is causing damage, since it results in alcohol carrying a taboo factor that encourages irresponsible use. It certainly isn't successful in keeping 18-year olds away from the drink.

Aye. If you can vote, enter a contract, get married, and enlist in the military, you should be able to drink.

Aye

I apologize for my general inactivity over the past few days, I've been battling a fairly nasty cold but I'm feeling a bit better now.

Aye. This bill has enough votes to pass. Senators have 24 hours to change their votes.
