Well, of course, there are silly people on both sides of the political spectrum – take Ben Kenobi, for example. I would hope everyone will judge the candidates by their records and qualifications, as opposed to what is essentially a one-man flame war.

As others have noted, it's best to judge the candidates on their platform and their actions, rather than their supporters as there is likely to be one or two on each side of the campaign that you disagree with.
