But which would you rather tell your parents you were doing?

It would depend on how open-minded the parents were.

The minimum wage clerk at Wal-Mart is more degrading.

The stripper makes a lot more money, has much more independence at her job, doesn't have to deal with unhappy customers, doesn't have a manager hanging over her head, and can have a lot of fun if she's comfortable with the job.

Which has more potential to get a better job later in life, though?  The only chance for growth as a stripper is the kind in your clients' pants.

I would say it's fairly equal, with the minimum wage clerk probably having a slight advantage.

Strippers don't have to list their stripping experience. They can always say they were a waitress or something like that.

And, why would they list that. Is their something about stripping that would make employers think less of the applicant?

You forget that strippers job lives are limited - once the beauty goes, so does the job.

We're comparing the stripper with the minimum wage clerk, so I assumed that "stripper" was the stripper's full-time job, and I'm saying that a minimum wage clerk is slightly more applicable work experience than a stripper.

Both are degrading, as is all work.  But obviously working at Walmart is far moreso.

Then the Wal Mart job would be less degrading.

Good lord man, have you never been in a WalMart?  Never eyed the poor morlocks toiling there?

Are you joking? Yes, I've been to WalMart, and none of them 'toil.' Walking around in an air conditioned room and showing people where things are is hardly 'toiling.'

A stripper is the representation of a sad aspect of our culture, just like supermodels are.

or you can use the money to get yourself a nice degree, which many do.

You forget that strippers job lives are limited - once the beauty goes, so does the job.

actually no, you do not have to be beautiful to be a stripper, even average looking girls can make quite a bit as strippers, most strippers are in fact simply in the average to slightly above range before they put on all their makeup and dress up. I have even seen ones that I consider ugly and have no clue why any guy would pay for a lapdance from them, but guys do. And I've seen quite a few older strippers, up to mid-30s or so, so they can get a good 15 years out of the job, who wants to work at Wal-Mart for 15 years?

A stripper is the representation of a sad aspect of our culture, just like supermodels are.

what the f*** is wrong with you?

And that aspect is the dearth of prostitutes.

If you think all strippers are hot, and that no strippers are over 30, you haven't seen many strippers (see my previous reply)

You are a complete dumbass if you didn't get what I meant. It simply means that their ability to do their job fades much faster with age than does the WalMart worker.
