I wanted to get some feedback on some ideas for a few timeline I'm thinking about writing, once I conclude The Rage.

1.) Barack Obama's Third Term: Barack Obama made history by being elected the first African-American President in 2008, and is now poised for another shot at history; becoming the first President to seek a third term since FDR.

2.) Open Election in 2004: As the War in Iraq heads south, and facing an uphill battle to reelection President Bush forgoes reelection in order to focus on the war efforts; this opens up the Republican and Democratic Primaries, as well as a possible third party run by Donald Trump who is frustrated with the leadership from both parties.

3.) President Hillary Clinton: After Barack Obama decides against running for a second term, Hillary Clinton defeats Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination and goes onto defeat Mitt Romney in a narrow election. Now four years later, President Clinton, with underwater approval ratings and a lackluster record of accomplishments prepares to run for reelection.

4.) A Different Reagan: Gas shortages. The Iran Hostage Crisis. A soaring economy. President Ronald Reagan faces the fight of his political life. A primary challenge and a Democratic Party chomping at the bits to win the Presidency in 1980.

5.) The Inevitable Candidate: Mitt Romney appears to have the Republican nomination locked up. He's leading in Iowa and heading for a blowout in New Hampshire. Nationally he leads President Obama by four to five points. Everything appears to be going his way, until an off the record remarks at fundraiser cause a national stir and blow the GOP race wide open.

Of the above, Bush senior reelected was done by dudabides, and Pres. Clinton and Romney losing the primaries have also been done (albeit not in the exact way described). The others are unique to my knowledge, choose among them.
