Let's say Heidi Heitkamp wins reelection in 2018. Is there any possibility of her running for president in 2020. I feel like she might have some appeal among rural voters. She could also really bring in a lot of female voters who might not have felt comfortable voting for Hillary Clinton.

If she picked Nina Turner as a running mate, maybe.

Of course she could be nominated, especially if she wins in 2018.  And, yes, I believe she'll be a Senate lifer if she wants to be.

The Democrats could stand to nominate someone who's more of a "moderate" on cultural issues, but they need to hold the line on the sort of economic issues that impact the lives of working people.  They might win more elections that way.
