It's gotten progressively worse every season.  Sad.  I was a big fan.  Maybe It will improve.  We can only hope.

The electoral map featured looks shockingly reasonable.

Frank started to look unhinged towards the end. Around the naming election cycles part.

Season 4 was a big improvement over Season 3.

I got tired of this show after Season 2's shenanigans. I guess seeing Kevin Spacey doing fucked up shit as President isn't for me.

I still think Francis Urquhart and the British House of Cards are vastly superior, but I'm really excited to see what they have in store for the season (and if indeed they'll follow some of the plotlines from "The Final Cut").

Beyond the electoral map, the trailer looks very ridiculous.

That's the entertainment value of the show. It's not a coincidence that the show's most disliked season is the third, which featured regular, failed, and dull attempts at some kind of domestic drama. "House of Cards" is at its best when it's at its most over-the-top. It's melodrama, but consciously political in nature — different from how something like "Scandal" is a soap opera that just happens to take place in Washington.

Both are pretty bad shows anchored by an amusing performance of the starring role. I suppose the American version looks nicer.

Sure, but the British show knows it's bad, and has fun with that. It's not pretending to be DEEP.

Is it legally allowed that the wife of the president is also the VP to be.

Technically. The current laws only prohibit a president from directly nominating a relative to a position. But in the show, the *convention* was the one that pushed for Claire, and ended up nominating her. Sure, the Underwoods are depicted as pushing for that outcome in private, but I don't recall them ever publicly endorsing it.

You mean the law prevent only relatives to a position, does this only go for blood relatives ore also to non blood relatives like wife ore son/daughter in law.

Not sure. I would assume the latter.

Just finished watching Season 4.

So, in response to a newspaper article exposing (most) of the sh**t he's done, Frank decides to get himself out of this potentially Watergatesque position by launching an invasion of Syria and Iraq,  because a wartime president is harder to impeach.

Trailer seems to imply that he is going full tyrant soon, and plannig to get the Twenty-second Amendment repealed among other things.

Wait, does he not need to get elected to a second term before he plans to repeal the Twenty-second Amendment.

I think in the end Vice President Claire will get Frank impeached and she himself will be president through a de-facto coup d'etat.
