While our current start of our terms is on Friday after the elections, a move to begin our terms on the Thursday after the election would do wonders for this region.

A lot can happen in just a day. To move it early means more work can be done. We can expect the results to be out by Monday. Then let the outgoing officials/assembly finish their remaining works until Thursday.

I support this measure for the same reasons that have been stated. This provides a good balance between allowing a "grace period" for outgoing officials to finish their remaining work, while enabling a quicker transition for newly elected officials to begin their duties.

I see no real argument against this.

I see no reason as to why anyone would not support this bill.

With 5 Ayes, this amendment has passed the Assembly and will be on the ballot in June.
