Opposing opebo's ban earns you a lifetime worth of FF status as far as I'm concerned.

He's referring to how I repeatedly called out a 13 year old poster posting vile stuff about refugees, immigrants and women. There was a big argument here if age is an excuse for holding such reprehensible views. That's the only time I've been accused of such bullying.

FWIW I've basically renounced most of what I said about opebo though I agree he should not have been banned. Not having him and his charismatic postings around though kind of put the whole thing into perspective for me.

Yeah, I disagree with BRTD on a lot, but the ShadowOfTheWave part was relevant.

The main thing that bugs me about him though is quoting a major creep like Sargon who clearly isn't all that electorally astute either, and his hot takes about how the alt right is going to be so dominant that no Jew can ever be elected President and that the country will vote like Alabama/Mississippi in a few decades because of...YouTube comments.

Like him or not Sargon is one of the most popular Youtube commentators, therefore my reference to him predicting a Le Pen win was just that, a simple reference, not an implication he's someone to be listened to when it comes to predictions.

Most of the alt right stuff is hyperbole, but I noticed the complete takeover of online comments by these types a few years back (https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=214311.0 when basically no one in the media or on this site noticed them. Now discussion of the alt right in the media and on this forum is a daily occurrence, their quick rise does disturb me.

     It is especially disturbing since, much like the SJWs, they are a small minority that happens to be louder than your average bear. Hand-wringing over them plays right into their hands, but it sure won't stop anyone from doing that.

Yeah, and when I was going through a really tough time with depression/anxiety and couldn't afford my medications, you were particularly nasty to me... which obviously made for a bad first impression.

Plus you spent the better part of a day deleting thousands of posts from here, which is bizarre.

So let's maybe remove the plank from our eyes before we nitpick about the sliver in BRTD's.

BRTD and I are completely different people despite us both loving our home (or adopted) state of Minnesota.  And he can be really irritating in a, thankfully, very predictable way.  Like the uncle at Thanksgiving that everyone groans about but would miss a lot if he were absent.

Plus... he has great taste in girlfriends, which says quite a bit about a person on the inside.  Rosa is such a sweetie pie!

I am far from BRTD's biggest fan (and am one of CC's biggest defenders - or more aptly, forced to be one), but I hope you don't let online behavior get in the way of anything. Too many people behave far differently online, and more importantly in text-form, where it is frequently harder to communicate emotion. I don't like a lot of his behaviors, but you can't let that get in the way of what you have. As a moralizing prude, I should in no good conscience be giving you this advice, but only you know what he is really like. You shouldn't take our word for it.
