This seems to be massively backfiring on GOP so far in terms of hot takes and narrative

In all honesty, there could have been a case to be made for Trump asking Comey to step down around the inauguration after everything last year. "Fresh start," so on. Doing it now reeks of something bad, even if Rosensrein's arguments hold water out of context. As usual, this administration can't do anything without looking like petty, crooked morons

Honestly, we have heard that since... 'They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.'

Fair, though Saturday Night Massavre Comparisons don't help anyone

A ton of FBI and IC people will leak like sieves if there's a there there and Trump tries to shut it down, frankly. Still on the fence about the merits of Comey himself, who really should have been gone a while ago

It's good to know democrats love James Comey now, pathetic hacks

I don't think people are defending Comey. They're questioning the timing.

Better late than never, but why right after Comey gave that testimony?

Yes.  Both of these can be true:

1. Comey has made some serious mistakes over the past year, and probably needed to go.

2. Trump's firing of Comey at this time reeks of conflict of interest.

My thoughts exactly

I can't read 17 pages.

Could somebody be kind enough to give me a brief synopsis of this clusterf**k?

Trump fired Comey, but all intelligent discussion on the topic was tragically consumed in a massive tire fire.

AKA 80% of discussions on atlas

Her rambling, droning speaking voice is an atrocity. Seriously, didn't think a step down from Spicer was possible, but here we are

La Cosa Nostra found this out the hard way. You'd think, as someone who has built things in NY, Trump would know why

Donald Trump himself has said that he hopes the Russia/Election campaign continues and indeed is expanded. All those opponents of his jumping up and demanding this investigation should continue and be expanded should be careful what they wish for. It might end up somewhere they don't expect.

How's your office block in St. Petersburg this time of year? I've heard Russian summers are lovely

Uhhh Kucinich just said Comey should have recused himself from the Russia case because he already implicated himself by helping to decide the 2016 election. What?

This is slightly less insane than Kucinich usually is

"Law firm @POTUS used to show he has no ties to Russia was named Russia Law Firm of the Year for their extensive ties to Russia. Unreal."
Future president Murphy doesn't mess around

Murphy does give off a bit of a Macron/Trudeau vibe doesn't he

Can we please forget about the attempts to derail the thread from the fact that the President of the United States was mad at the the Director of the FBI for investigating the President's campaign's ties to a foreign power, so he threw a temper tantrum and fired him?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Why exactly isn't Krazen banned from this forum?

Technicalities, as I understand it

It's not Mensch who gives me hope that this is true, it's Taylor.

I'm skeptical of him too - though nowhere near Mensch
