Who will be the 8th F.B.I. Director, now that James B. Comey has been fired by President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions?

Chris Christie? Rudy Giuliani? Kim Guadagno? James Kallstrom?

The reason why I added New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno on the list is, like her boss, Gov. Christie, she is a former prosecutor and is a smart woman. However, as a N.J. gubernatorial candidate, she is a weak front-runner. N.J. GOP is not really excited about Guadagno. She'd be a good F.B.I. director, but her boss would be jealous. She has Christie tied up around her.

Do you think Clarke can survive the Senate confirmation hearings with some of the prison baggage?

Most certainly. Trump will get whatever he wants, not sure why people don't see this.

Of this list, Giuliani or Kallstrom are most likely.

Gowdy would be best, but wasn't he considering retiring from Congress because he wanted to go back to South Carolina? FBI Director may be a tough sell.

It won't be Clarke. Too much of a history of seeking out cameras to stand in front of, and too overtly political. Maybe Bill Bratton if he wants to go with a police chief.

Bratton would actually be a non controversial choice. Zero confidence Trump could pick someone like that for this job

You can stop wondering why Giuliani didn't get The attorney general job. This is your answer.

Why didn't Rudy Giuliani get the A.G. job?

Exactly, that's a list of reasonable people who would be the choices of a reasonable president.

President Trump was overheard discussing this: "I think we should get either John McClane or Rambo.  No wait, I know: Paul Kersey.  We could use a real outsider."
