Lincoln Democrats (Regional party)

Welcome to the official thread of the Lincoln Democrats - Lincoln's first regional party established under the newly passed Regional Party Label Act.

The Lincoln Democrats are a center-left, social democratic party.  Among our priorities are:

• Universal health care - provided to Lincoln citizens either via regional public option or single-payer program
• Infrastructure - with policies that promote Lincoln-made steel and other resources
• Education reform - eliminating "drill, kill, bubble fill" standardized testing and promoting an educational environment that caters to each student's unique needs and interests, and universal pre-k
• The creation of a state-owned bank in model of the Bank of North Dakota, to spur investment and job creation in Lincoln
• Sustainable development and conserving natural resources
• The right to unionize and repeal of all right-to-work laws
• Renewal of depleted cities (such as Flint, Michigan) and rural communities
• Workers' rights including paid vacation, sick leave, and maternity leave
• Rights for women and reproductive healthcare
• Equality for all Lincolnians, be they gay, straight, transgender, queer, black, white, brown, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or other
• Meaningful justice and police reform with a focus toward accountability and cohesion between officers and the people they protect and serve
