Medium-low quality, I think. Many of the posters are trolls, but it's still a good place for sharing info.

With consideration of other forums out there with quality and activity, I voted medium-high. I genuinely like this forum, it has a lot of smart users and is pretty active (especially around election time). Trolls (like eharding Wink) do bring the quality down, but after all, it's an internet forum. What would one expect? I think there are inherent trade-offs when it comes to these attributes. If you want mostly quality, you're going to have less activity, and vice versa.

If you think it's low quality, then why are you here?

EDIT: There are zero other forums out there that I'm aware of that track the 2020 tea leaves to the extent that we do here:

Therefore, this forum offers the world a valuable service, and this is the best forum.  Tongue

But is there a "scene" in Atlasia?  That's the real question.

Some parts are really garbage like the US president section.

Some however are quite good like the congressional board

Yeah, the answer to this question depends heavily on what part of the forum you're talking about.

Before I posted here I posted at politico, huffpo, redstate, realclear, and some militia sites.

This place is better, even if it is slower.

I genuinely like the people here, more so than the other forums I go on. Anyone who suck I can pretty much tune out, except for someone like Ehardon. That dude is un-tune-out-able. But the rest of you people are pretty good.

International elections subforum and the congressional subforum are the better ones. In the international elections board the threads where the foreign posters give us information about their countries are usually great, the ones that are dominated by americans are pretty crappy.

The rest is pretty much divided between "meh" and "garbage".

Of course it also depends on the posters. Nathan for instance is high quality, so any thread that he posts in, is already a little bit better than the others.

Low quality overall.

Of course compared to democratic underground, freerepublic, stormfront or random political sites comments sections this forum is much better, but I don't even dare compare that nonsense with this forum.

Medium-Low Quality

There are some bright spots, but the overwhelming hackery prevalent in the US General Discussion Forum and 2016 board when it was active it lower the score by a lot.  Sometimes commentary on DU is of a higher quality than the comments on the US General Forum, which says more about this place than DU.  Debate on that forum is often an echo chamber, in which posters try to outdo each other in Democratic hackery, then personally attack those who beg to differ with them.

Medium-high quailty.

Not that many trolls and the really bad ones get blocked quickly. Most posters are informed people, although I have sharp differences with some. But I admit their knowledge. I also think that the climate between Republicans and Democrats is better than in real life or social media in general.

Voted medium-low. There are certain areas where the forum stands out (especially in a lot of the discussions of state and international politics/elections, at least when the latter isn’t overrun with Americans), but there are some boards (US General comes to mind) where I just don’t read this place anywhere. AAD provides a better signal-to-noise ratio on most topics.

Low-quality. Medium-quality if you ignore any poster with a signature that exceeds the McQuary Limit or with a red avatar.

Wow, I just saw that. Yeah, US General Discussion even makes the 2020 board look good.

I made a few low brow contributions there to be sure, but man alive it's an amazing pile of sh**t.  Smiley

I would say medium or medium-high quality, but it would be a much better forum if the ToS rules against excessive hyperbole and personal attacks were enforced more rigorously, and we banned those abrasive posters who continued to violate them.

I'd say it depends on the boards, threads, and people you frequently see.

the quality of this forum has continued to decline relative to its Semi-Recent Past in the minds of its users since I joined here (I think this is possibly a normal feeling for users of any forum once novelty has worn off and etc). I can barely stand to come here anymore - it felt like before there was at least more interesting content to read, and the atmosphere was less grating.

the bland aesthetic of the forum itself I've also grown to dislike passionately (and the fact that I can't even browse efficiently on my phone is pathetic and something I'm thinking about trying to fix, for fun).
