President Donald Trump (R), who is not a ideological conservative, but a right leaning populist/nationalist, is still under investigation for his alleged ties to Russia and Russian-linked businesses. Also the 2016 Russia-U.S. hacking.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D) is still attacked months later for her mishandling of private emails as Secretary of State, her record as a New York Senator and corporations, her persona as bland and technocratic and her baggage of the 1980s and 1990s.

Gary Johnson (L) is out of U.S. politics post-2016 and Jill Stein (G) seems out of politics post-2016 as well. They did not run great campaigns.

It shows how depressing the 2016 presidential election was, doesn't it?

The only good thing that the election did was put Jill Stein and Gary Johnson into obscurity.
