I believe it is ultimately inevitable, but if done in a way that promotes gigantic sudden movements and permanent underclasses then will lead to reactionary politics and conflict.

FP.

But I'm not impractical nor a pure idealist. Open borders simply isn't realistic in our present context, but it should be a goal we continuously work towards since borders serve no constructive purpose to humanity.

I mean, define "open borders," please.  If it is the expression given to an increasingly globalized world where it's easier to immigrate, then FP.  If it literally means borders that allow people to go from country to country unchecked, then it's a ridiculous and asinine HP.

Yes, open borders between all countries, just like currently exist between US states.

Freedom policy in a vacuum, nevertheless the right time has not yet come for this to be implemented successfully.

Horrible Policy (assuming open borders refers to anyone being able to walk into a country 100% unchecked).

Either you can have a welfare state and restricted borders or no welfare state and open borders, as for me I'll choose the former.

HP - simple, swift citizenship procedures would achieve the benefits, while avoiding mass exploitation of workers and labor standards.

Interpreted literally, it implies the collapse of the idea of state sovereignty. States are our primary administrative unit within the international system. If they are unable to control the populations that (A) they have control over, (B) they extract revenue from, (C) they take care of, then our system of governance will collapse.

Which is why we need to move beyond a State-based model of political organization and lay the groundwork for global (or at least macroregional) governance in at least some key areas of policy.

As... Eh, whatever, "old fashioned", "bigoted", or so on as it sounds, I fail to see how, in a "democratic" system we could expect executives or even legislatures to balance the interests of the developed and developing worlds effectively, especially in the context of a million different cultures over which they would have to govern. You could probably find a million horror stories of the attempts of Europeans to impose their justice systems on "natives". These did not end well. Multiply this a million times over and have it coincide with unprecedented wealth redistribution. Your choices are immense complacence and bloody culture clash.

I believe that immigration should be made easier, not harder, but open borders isn't the way to go right now.

I always thought that this was a far right wing Strawman. That someone with a website, even one person, seriously advocates it is interesting. Perhaps it shows that by bleating about it so loud, the alt right had inadvertently opened a can of worms. That said:
