In addition to voting and identifying your top 2 picks of those listed above, consider adding a map to discuss the hypothetical outcome of such a Democratic Primary.

For me, my top 2 candidates would be Jason Kander (MO) and Amy Klobuchar (MN). Unfortunately, I doubt Kander has the ability to win, primarily due to his lack of experience. Klobuchar is an interesting and rather pragmatic choice, but with a pretty solid progressive voting history, would be the first woman President, comes from a Midwestern state, and I imagine she would be America's more liberal version of Angela Merkel. The only possible problem with her would be an inability to capture the populism that other candidates could, such as Kamala Harris or even, possibly, Cory Booker.

Personally, I think the most likely outcome would be a four-person race that becomes a two-person race. At first, it would be Booker, Harris, Klobuchar, and Murphy in the top four, but then Murphy and Booker would lose momentum, shedding it to Harris and Klobuchar who represent different personalities, more so than different policies. Klobuchar would be the more pragmatic, Midwestern candidate, whereas Harris would be the more energetic, coastal, minority candidate. All of this is pure speculation, of course, but I think Harris would be favored to win in this scenario.

Booker = Gray | Harris = Red | Klobuchar = Green | Murphy = Blue

Go ahead, nominate another awful neoliberal hawk in 2020. See what happens.

Murphy and Gillibrand. Can't support a state's Secretary of State.

Harris Klobuchar or Gillibrand (although I wish Clinton was an option)

Did jfern prefer Trump for the purpose of "heightening the contradictions"? If so, I think we have a match.

Clinton being "neoliberal" isn't why she lost. She lost because of her excessive baggage in a "change" election year. Meanwhile Bernie was never even close to winning the primary

Kander is the only one I kind of like, and that's probably because he's the one I know the least about. Kander and Booker, I guess.

No Liz Warren?  Out of the remaining options, I picked Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar.

If Biden decides not to run, I will most likely support Kander.

For Kander to win, he must win Iowa and probably would need to pick off New Hampshire from Warren/Gabbard presumably. If that happens, he might be able to position himself as the real alternative to Booker which would basically eliminate Warren/Gabbard after Super Tuesday as Bernie supporters would coalesce around him, and perhaps some superdelegates start flipping his way Obama-style. He'd also need a few surprise victories in states like Ohio and Virginia where he might be able to draw an inside straight. From there, it would look similar to a Clinton/Sanders redux, but I think Kander would have success in siphoning off Clinton voters in the Northeast and West Coast. Here's my Kander victory map:

Kander
Booker
Warren/Gabbard

Can someone tell me how Kander seems to be viewed as a more serious 2020 candidate then Julian Castro? When I pitched him (Castro) earlier this year the general feedback was he wasn't experienced enough but Kander is?! I like him (Kander) but talk about a dude who needs experience

I'm surprised the Berniecrats aren't angrier that the 78 year old isn't on the list.

Cuomo for sure. He's the only one I'd vote for over Trump.

I agree. I really like Kander and would love to see him run for President, but he definitely needs more experience and I really can't see him getting far if he runs in 2020. Castro is far more experienced, but even he would probably be considered too inexperienced. Besides, I think a lot of people try to find a reason to dismiss Castro because he's seen as a neoliberal.

Kander would get my vote - he could play up his military experience to counter attacks on his lack of political experience and could balance the ticket with somebody like Klobuchar or Gillibrand who has more experience with domestic policy.

A Kander/Klobuchar ticket would certainly win back the midwest and probably expand to Missouri and Arizona, and maybe Kentucky if healthcare remains a driving issue. North Carolina, Georgia and Florida would remain competitive. Hard to tell for me on Pennsylvania as I've never worked in the state.

Her neoliberalism certainly played decisive factor. I suggest you read Fairfax County USA. This is a highly accurate analysis.

Out of these: Kamala Harris and Cory Bokker (Jason Kander narrowly second).

I would also support Steve Bullock. And JBE for vice president.
